It all comes down to this! YCS Guadalajara started with 788 Duelists from all around the world, and now we’re down to just 2! Ramiro Garcia from the United States placed 20th after Swiss and has Danger! Lunalight Orcust, a Deck growing in popularity over the last couple of weeks with its ability to reuse Lunalight Tiger’s effect to Special Summon a Lunalight from the Graveyard multiple times per turn to generate some powerful combos. His opponent is Jonhathan Sebastian Vazquez Herrera who placed 14th after Swiss and has Sky Striker, a Deck that has proven to adapt to its surroundings and stay competitive in the right hands. Only one of these Duelists will walk away with an Ultra Rare version of the YCS Prize Card Duel Link Dragon, the Duel Dragon and the title of YCS Champion. Who will it be? For the final time this weekend, it’s time to Duel!

Welcome to the Semi-Finals! Four Duelists are 2 wins away from a Championship and each is one win away from a guaranteed Super Rare version of the YCS Prize Card Duel Link Dragon, the Duel Dragon! Jonhathan Sebastian Vazquez Herrera placed 14th after Swiss and has Sky Striker, a popular pick here in Guadalajara while Alan Omar Roman Villagomez, who placed 10th after Swiss, has what was described to me as Pendulum Magician but I’d like to think it’s more like Odd-Eyes Pendulum Magician. Which of these talented Duelists will make it to the Finals? It’s time to Duel!

Welcome to the Top 8! Just three Rounds left before we have a new YCS Champion! Juan Carlos Panales Cortes from Aguas Calientes finished Swiss in 16th place as the only Infernoid player in the Top 32. He’s taking on Edwin Azuma Monreal Araiza from San Luiz Potosi who finished 25th after Swiss and his Salamangreat Deck. Panales Cortes may have the advantage as Infernoids can clear the opponent’s Graveyard which happens to be valuable resource for Salamangreat players. Only one of these talented Duelists will move on to the Top 4. It’s time to Duel!

Welcome to the Top 16! Esala Sammidha de Alwis Wathuthantrige is from Los Angeles, California and placed 12th after Swiss with Salamangreat. This is another YCS Top in a long line of YCS Top Cut appearances. His opponent is the 28th seed Salvador Molina Ochoa for Mexico and he has what is essentially an Orcust Deck but also uses Trickstar and Sky Striker cards to enable the Orcust combo. It’s the type of Deck that we saw earlier in the year when Duelists were first starting to figure out how to put two monsters with different names on the field, and the Deck has clearly done well for Salvador Molina Ochoa. Will it get him to the Top 8, or will Esala get one step closer to his first YCS Championship? It’s time to Duel!

Welcome to the Top 32! It’s Single Elimination from here on out! And let me tell you, all of these 16 matches are worthy enough for a feature and picking just one of them was incredibly difficult. Even though we’ve already featured the 11th seed Adrian Madriz Espinoza from Guadalajara on Day 1, I also wanted to feature Andres David Torres Reyes, a UDS Champion and the winner of the 200th YCS in Mexico who placed 22nd after Swiss. Andres David Torres Reyes from Columbia has Danger! Thunder Dragon Orcust while Adrian Madriz Espinoza has Endymion Pendulum. Only one of these accomplished Duelists will make it to the Top 16. It’s time to Duel!’

Welcome to Round 10! This is the final round of Swiss before the cut to the Top 32! Erick Villanueva Priego from Veracruz is a YCS Champion and in 2019 had the most amount of World Qualifying Points in Central America with 692 points and the 2nd most in the world behind Dominic Couch from the United States with 714. He has Sky Striker and he’s up against Carlos Ramon Herrera Hernandez from Matamoros, Tamaulipas with Endymion Pendulum. This could be the end for one of these Duelists. A win will secure a Top 32 appearance while a loss will put the Duelist at risk for elimination. It’s time to Duel!

Welcome to Round 7! This is the final Round of Swiss we’re playing today. I mentioned in the previous Feature Match that 2 Mexican Duelists got a pop from the crowd when their names were announced as Bounty Duelists. Adrian Madriz Espinoza from Guadalajara is that second Duelists, and here’s here with an Endymion-based Pendulum Deck. He’s taking on Salvador Osmar Gonzalez Zuany from Chihuahua with Infernoid! We’ve seen Infernoid here and there at YCS’s and Regional Qualifiers so it’s good to see it here at the Feature Match table! For the last time today, it’s time to Duel!

Welcome to Round 5! During the opening announcements, Bounty Duelist Jose Carlo Carrillo Toscano was one of the two Mexican Bounty Duelists that got a pop from the crowd in attendance, so I would be especially remiss if I didn’t give him a Feature Match! Jose is from Guadalajara and he’s running Danger! Lunalight Orcust against Malvin Bernardo Dionisio from Vacaville, California running Sky Striker. It’s time to Duel!

Welcome to Round 3! We’re at Table 49 for this Round featuring a previous Mexican National Champion! Erick Laurentino Ramirez Rodriguez from right here in Guadalajara, Mexico won the 2016 Mexican National Championship with Madolche! He has Magical Musketeer with him this weekend and he’s taking on Guillermo Benjamin Morales Ramirez from Mexico City with Cyber Dragon Orcust. These Duelists know each other, and this should be an exciting match! It’s time to Duel!
