Top 4 Feature Match: Jonhathan Sebastian Vazquez Herrera vs. Alan Omar Roman Villagomez

September 29th, 2019

Welcome to the Semi-Finals! Four Duelists are 2 wins away from a Championship and each is one win away from a guaranteed Super Rare version of the YCS Prize Card Duel Link Dragon, the Duel Dragon! Jonhathan Sebastian Vazquez Herrera placed 14th after Swiss and has Sky Striker, a popular pick here in Guadalajara while Alan Omar Roman Villagomez, who placed 10th after Swiss, has what was described to me as Pendulum Magician but I’d like to think it’s more like Odd-Eyes Pendulum Magician. Which of these talented Duelists will make it to the Finals?  It’s time to Duel!

Top 8 Feature Match: Juan Carlos Panales Cortes vs. Edwin Azuma Monreal Araiza

September 29th, 2019

Welcome to the Top 8! Just three Rounds left before we have a new YCS Champion! Juan Carlos Panales Cortes from Aguas Calientes finished Swiss in 16th place as the only Infernoid player in the Top 32. He’s taking on Edwin Azuma Monreal Araiza from San Luiz Potosi who finished 25th after Swiss and his Salamangreat Deck. Panales Cortes may have the advantage as Infernoids can clear the opponent’s Graveyard which happens to be valuable resource for Salamangreat players. Only one of these talented Duelists will move on to the Top 4. It’s time to Duel!

Top 16 Feature Match: Esala Sammidha de Alwis Wathuthantrige vs. Salvador Molina Ochoa

September 29th, 2019

Welcome to the Top 16!  Esala Sammidha de Alwis Wathuthantrige is from Los Angeles, California and placed 12th after Swiss with Salamangreat.  This is another YCS Top in a long line of YCS Top Cut appearances.  His opponent is the 28th seed Salvador Molina Ochoa for Mexico and he has what is essentially an Orcust Deck but also uses Trickstar and Sky Striker cards to enable the Orcust combo.  It’s the type of Deck that we saw earlier in the year when Duelists were first starting to figure out how to put two monsters with different names on the field, and the Deck has clearly done well for Salvador Molina Ochoa.  Will it get him to the Top 8, or will Esala get one step closer to his first YCS Championship?  It’s time to Duel!
