For our Top 8 Feature Match, we have an emblematic battle of YCS Orlando: Bystial Maliss versus Fiendsmith Ryzeal! We have Gabriel Braithwaite, from Brooklyn, New York, using the Maliss Deck. His opponent is Julien Kehon, here from France, using Ryzeals.
From nearly 2300 Duelists, we’re down to just the Top 64! We’re here with UDS winner and YCS Champion Jeff Jones, from Michigan, playing Bystial Maliss. He’s facing Arizona Duelist Stephen Klaus, one of the last Atlantean Mermail Duelists in the tournament. The rest of the tournament is Single Elimination, so only one of these Duelists can move on!
We are in the last Round of Swiss for Day 1 here at YCS Niagara Falls. In the Top Tables right now, we still see mostly Snake-Eye variants. Most of them are running Azamina cards and some of them are playing Fire Kings.
Centur-Ion Bystial and Tenpai are still in the running, along with the Snake-Eye Rescue-ACE Deck. Two Plant Link Decks have made it into the Top Tables and are in the running for Day 2 here! Read more…
We have just two Rounds left in Day 1 here at YCS Niagara Falls. The competition is fierce and it is time to see what types of Decks are staying strong out in the field. Read more…
We’re halfway into our first day of Dueling, with another
Feature Match! This time it’s Kristofer MacNeal, from Baltimore, MD, facing
Caedmon Trivette, from Greensborough, NC. Both Duelists are using Horus Decks,
but that’s where the similarities end. MacNeal’s rocking an ABC Deck with a ton
of Machines and Field Spells for Unions, Therions, Horus, and even the recently
Limited Chicken Game. Trivette’s got a Dragon Link Deck, with a major
emphasis on Bystials, as well as a some Red Dragon Archfiend cards.
We’re in Round 3 with another heater of a Feature Match! We’re
here with Isaiah Raphael, from Miami, FL, playing Centur-Ion! His Deck is
teched out to beat the metagame, using Bystials and Super Polymerization
to get an edge. His opponent is Cameron Carvella, from Knoxville, TN, with
Bystial Runick! This Deck uses Runick spells to control the game and draw a lot
of cards, with the Bystials and Runick monsters to fuel Synchro Summons to take
over the Duel.
We’re in the second to last Round of the day, and for this Feature Match we’ve got a really cool surprise! Jim Mayorga is 6-1 using Bystial Crimson King. That’s right, Jack Atlas’s strategy itself, straight from Structure Deck: The Crimson King, combined with Bystial monsters!
His opponent is Mingrui Cai, also 6-1 playing Tearlaments, boosted with the powerful Horus cards from Age of Overlord. Both strategies have been flying under the radar, but both are seeing incredible success today, so this one should be interesting. It’s time to Duel!
Over 1,900 Duelists are reduced to just the Top 32! Logan
Kite, from Greenville, TN, finished in 1st place in the Swiss rounds
with his Sinful Spoils Rescue-ACE Deck. He’s facing Kailyn Cooksey, from Kansas
City, MO, who just won on the live stream with his unique Horus Bystial Deck!
It’s single elimination from this point on, so only one of these Duelists can
move on!
Mike Thomas, from Chicago, is back for another Feature Match! Despite his terrible luck in his previous Round 7 Feature Match, he was able to persevere with his Dragon Link Deck to the Top 8! He’s up against Bill Wei, from Indiana, playing Kashtira. They’ve played well to make it this far, but only one of these Duelists can advance to the Top 4!
Day 1 is nearly complete, but that doesn’t mean these
Duelists can rest! We’ve got Steven Santoli, from Hamilton, ON, play Exosisters!
He’s hoping their Graveyard control will help against the Bystials in the Dragon
Link Deck piloted by Alexandre April, from Montreal, QC. April will need to
play carefully around all the Exosister effects if he wants to combo off!
