This is it, the final Round of Swiss competition here in Day 1 of YCS Richmond! We liked Gilles Thomas’s Dinomorphia Exosister Deck so much, we brought him back for another Feature Match. If you missed it, you can see it in action winning our Round 7 Feature Match, where he took down Haris Mirzada’s Adventure Plunder Patroll Deck.
This time, he’s up against Muhtasim Mallick, a Long Island Duelist playing Purrely. This matchup could get interesting, since Purrely Pretty Memory can manipulate the Dinomorphia Duelist’s Life Points, but Purrely are also susceptible to a lot of the Exosister and Dinomorphia effects. There’s only one way to find out how it’ll go: It’s time to Duel!
This Round 7 Feature Match is going to be a banger! We have two Duelists with 5-1 records and Decks that truly stand out against the expected field. First up is Haris Mirzada, from nearby Bristow, Virginia. Mirzada’s using an Adventure Plunder Patroll Deck with Synchros, Xyz, and Links, while getting extra advantage from the Adventure engine’s tokens and interactions.
His opponent is Gilles Thomas, from not-so-nearby Paris, France! He’s using a Dinomorphia Exosister Deck, looking to make explosive plays that lock down the field and Graveyard at the cost of his own Life Points.
Top 8 is underway, and we have another great Feature Match in store! Yamil Camacho, from Clarksville, TN, is the lone Exosister Duelist to make it to the Top 32. He’s advanced this far, but now he’s facing Jack Li, from Scarborough, ON, and his Purrely Deck. Li is also the final Purrely Duelist in the tournament. Only one Duelist and one Deck can advance!
It all comes down to this! Over a total 13 rounds, over 300 Duelists have been reduced to just two. We have Steven Santoli, piloting Exosisters. He’s been dominating in Feature Matches this weekend, and he’s got one more to go. His opponent is Liam Mac Oscair, piloting the explosive Mathmech @Ignister strategy. The winner of this Match will be crowned the North America Remote Duel YCS Champion, and will earn an Ultra Rare Anotherverse Dragon Prize Card! It’s time to Duel!
Only four Duelists remain! Bill Wei is fresh off his Top 8
Feature Match win with his Kashtira Deck. He’s up against Steven Santoli, the
only Duelist to make the Top Cut with Exosisters. These Duelists are just two
wins away from the title of Remote Duel YCS Champion and a guaranteed Anotherverse
Dragon Prize Card!
For this Top 16 Feature Match, we have two Duelists from across the globe! We have Steven Santoli back again for another Feature Match. Hailing from Hamilton, ON, he’s the only Exosister Duelist to have made Top 32. His opponent is Jamie Hunter, from Sheffield, England, playing a Runick Spright Fur Hire Deck. This variant has become quite popular lately, so let’s see what the hype is about!
Day 1 is nearly complete, but that doesn’t mean these
Duelists can rest! We’ve got Steven Santoli, from Hamilton, ON, play Exosisters!
He’s hoping their Graveyard control will help against the Bystials in the Dragon
Link Deck piloted by Alexandre April, from Montreal, QC. April will need to
play carefully around all the Exosister effects if he wants to combo off!
