Juan Flores from Austin, Texas ended the Swiss Rounds with a 10-1 record using his Inzektor Deck. Justin Duren from Wichita Falls, Texas piloted his Gemini HERO Deck to a 9-2 finish by the end of the Swiss Rounds. Gemini HERO Decks typically have a strong matchup against Inzektors because of cards like Skill Drain, Hero Blast, and Gemini Spark that can stop Inzektor effects or destroy Inzektors before their effects can resolve. But if Flores gets a fast start, he may be able to beat Duren before Duren can pin him down with his cards. Read more…

We’ve seen a ton of different strategies so far this weekend, but Thomas Morran is piloting a Deck we haven’t seen in Feature Match action yet: Destiny Hero Diva! A new incarnation of the Diamond Dude Turbo strategy, this Deck aims to use Destiny HERO – Diamond Dude and Destiny HERO – Malicious in combination with Deep Sea Diva, unleashing big Synchro Monsters and Elemental HERO Absolute Zero. Morran’s opponent is Jordan Kehler, one of several Tech Genus Agents Duelists still left in the tournament. Kehler’s Deck is super-fast, and really good at managing the Graveyard. It plays Kristya really easily, and that could be a huge factor against Morran’s Special Summons.

None other than Elemental HERO Ice Edge, a pint-sized direct attacker that’s taken on a whole new role as of September 1st. Read more…
Bobby Barone is up against William Lockwood, taking an Elemental HERO Deck against Lockwood’s Gravekeepers: a rough matchup for Barone.
