The first day of Dueling is nearly complete here at the NA WCQ! We have two Duelists with a single loss for this Feature Match. That means they’re eager for a win to lock in their place in Day 2. Here from Houston, Texas, we have Jose Rivera using Kashtira Snake-Eyes. He’s up against Daniel Nguyen from Hamilton, Ontario, with a Gimmick Puppet Deck! Rivera’s got a more traditional strategy trying to establish a powerful field to start the Duel, while Nguyen is looking to put together a burn damage combo to win on the first turn!
We’re halfway into the first day of the North America World Championship Qualifier! This Feature Match pits Black Dauterive, from Lafayette, LA, against William Irmer, from Russellville, AR. Dauterive is using a HERO Deck, while Irmer has Kashtira. They’ve managed to come this far against a field of Snake-Eyes and Fiendsmiths, but now they have to navigate an unexpected matchup!
We’re approaching the end of Day 1 here at YCS Indianapolis. Andy Bazzi and Christopher Brooker each have 6 wins and 1 loss, leaving them with 18 points. Players need 19 points to advance to Day 2, so either player would be able to secure their Day 2 spot with a win this round, though both players will want as many points as possible in order to try and make the top 32. It’s time to Duel!
Over 1800 Duelists have been reduced to just the Top 32!
While the Snake-Eye Decks have performed phenomenally at this event, there’s
still a variety of other Decks too. This Feature Match pits two of these Decks against
each other! First up is Jesus Arroyo, from Hartford, CT, playing a pure
Kashtira Deck today. His opponent is Eric Topel, here from Schortens, Germany,
representing Branded Despia. These are the last Duelists playing these Decks in
the tournament, but only one can advance to the Top 16!
Day 2’s kicking off here on Sunday morning, and Jerrod Dunn from Baltimore is playing Tearlaments, up against Elias Tsirogiannis from Queens, playing Kashtira! You read that right, Kashtira is still alive despite losing Kashtira Arise-Heart on the most recent Forbidden & Limited List. This classic match-up is happening right here at YCS Richmond!
Both Duelists are in great shape to make Top 32 with a win in this Match, while a loss will mean they’ll be dancing with danger. It’s time to Duel!
The Remote Duel Extravaganza is nearing its finale – we’re
down to the Top 16 Duelists! Only one can earn the set of Ultra Rare Prize
Cards: Darklord Asmodeus, Darklord Superbia, and Darklord Edeh
Arae!
To kick things off, we’re back with Emmanuel Lilly and his Generaider Deck! This New York Duelist won his Round 5 Feature Match yesterday, and he’s returned to show off this unique strategy. His opponent is Leonardo Sacchetti, from Italy, playing Kashtira. It’s the most popular Deck for a reason, with a lot of powerful monsters and consistent combos. Will Kashtira be able to overcome the wall of disruption created by the Generaiders?
We’re in Round 3 of the Main Event, with another Feature
Match! Carlos Pecina is from Houston, TX, using an Adventure Synchron Deck
featuring the new Revolution Synchron! His opponent is Jose Lopez
Zambrano, from New York, using Kashtira!
The Top 4 Duelists may have qualified for the World
Championship, but there’s more than that on the line. There is also… glory!
These Duelists want to claim 1st place, and the full set of Photon
Hypernova and Cyberstorm Access Starlight Rare Cards! We’ve got a
Kashtira mirror Match, with Lars Bergquist, from Miami, FL, up against Gerardo
Varela, from Stockton, CA. It’s time to Duel!
Welcome to Day 2 of the North America World Championship Qualifier! We’re starting things off with a banger! We have Justin Ly, from Forsyth, GA, playing Kashtira. This has proven to be the Deck to beat this weekend, but it’s not quite as dominant as it was in past events. Looking to take down Kashtira is David Tucker, from Chicago, IL, playing Synchrons! These Duelists have 6-2-1 records, putting them both on the bubble. A win is needed here for a shot at the Top Cut!
We’re heading into Round 7 with one of highest ranked Purrely players in the event so far! Jose Santiago Torres, from Lowell, MA, has been using these furry friends to finish with flair. His opponent is Jeremy Mitchell, from Jacksonville, FL, playing the tried and true Kashtira. It’s a powerful and consistent strategy, with many Duelists resting their hopes on the Deck.
