For fans of bygone eras of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, TEAM YCS Las Vegas offered a unique opportunity: a chance to unite with two of your closest Dueling allies to compete in a Team Format tournament spanning three of the game’s most loved Forbidden & Limited Lists: April 2005, March 2010, and September 2011. Teams got to showcase their mastery of iconic cards like Thousand-Eyes Restrict, Quickdraw Synchron, and Reborn Tengu, testing their skills in three very different formats.
Now that the Finals are over, the Top 3 teams have all been awarded their oversized card and GIANT CARD prizes. Congratulations to the winners of the Ultimate Time Wizard TEAM Tournament!
If Duelists didn’t get enough trios action in the YCS Main Event, there are several 3 vs. 3 Team Tournaments this weekend, offering unique prizes you won’t find anywhere else. The three teams that rack up the most points in these tournament earn partial uncut sheets of cards in rarities corresponding to their finish: Secret Rare sheets for 1st Place, Ultra Rares for 2nd Place, and Super Rares for 3rd Place. Check them out!
Last weekend’s Undisputed UDS Championship has resparked interest in the Ultimate Duelist Series, the star-studded invite-only tournament circuit that ran from late 2015 to early 2020, right up until the start of the global pandemic. And while the Yugiverse is still coming down from the thrill of Jesse Kotton’s massive win, we’ve actually got eight more UDS winners in attendance here this weekend, carrying their UDS Championship belts into competition.
Duelists are grinding hard in the April 2010 Format today, competing to become the Ultimate Time Wizard Tournament winner, all hoping to take home that amazing GIANT Card version of Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn! A year of Dragon Duels has culminated in this event! These Dragon Duelists are battling for the prize of a trip to Jump Festa in Japan! This is Round 4 of 6, before we cut to the Top 16 tomorrow.
Over 3200 competitors played in the YCS Los Angeles main event, and now the remaining field is less than 1% of that original total. After 13 Rounds of play the entire tournament’s been whittled down to just 32 Duelists, now competing in close quarters for five more Rounds. The one Duelist who survives the gauntlet of world-class competitors will earn the title of 250th YCS Champion, a legendary achievement, but getting there won’t be easy.
Here’s a look at the top 32 tables as competition kicks off!
For an event of this size pre-registration is a must: if you don’t pre-register to lock in your spot at a YCS, you might not be able to compete! With a total player count of over 3200 competitors in the main event this weekend, a grand total of 2862 Duelists pre-registered to guarantee their spot in the tournament.
There’s a lot of cool stuff to see here at the 250th YCS in Los Angeles, but one display’s got everybody buzzing: the Quarter Century Secret Rares from the upcoming Legendary Collection: 25th Anniversary Edition.
