We’re heading into Round 4 with another Feature Match! Sebastian Cosentino is a local Duelist from the Sacramento area, and this weekend he’s piloting a Runick Deck! Cosentino’s on a Runick Stun build with Spright cards in the mix. He’s facing Luis Oropeza from Los Angeles, playing Traptrix!
We’re in Round 3 with another Feature Match! This time we have Timothy Dinh, from Rockville Maryland, piloting Mikanko! His Deck plays Sinful Spoils and Infernoble Knights to synergize with his Equip Spells.
His opponent is Zachary Vicenzi, from Waterbury, Connecticut. He’s brought a Spright Purrely Deck to the table. He’s able to put down the typical Purrely plays which don’t lock you into any specific Summons, then follow up with Sprights for more disruption. The Sprights can also make Rank 2 Xyz Monsters really easily, giving Vicenzi an alternate way to get his Purrely Extra Deck monsters into play.
For our Top 16 Feature Match, we have the only remaining
Match with no Kashtira at the table. Kamal Crooks, from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, is
playing the adorable (and deadly) Purrely! He’s up against George Sacco, from
Oklahoma City, OK, playing Fur Hire Runick Spright! Let’s get to it: it’s time
to Duel!
Over 3,000 Duelists have battled it out here at the North America
World Championship Qualifier, and the Swiss rounds are over! Only 64 Duelists
remain, and it’s single elimination from this point on. With us now are Omar
Jones, from Baltimore, MD, and Charley Futch, from Indianapolis, IN. Jones is
playing a Spright Deck with a twist – it’s packing Gishki! The Gishki cards
have many Level 2’s to pair with the Sprights, and Evigishki Neremanas
is a powerful card to stop his opponents. Futch is the 2018 Dragon Duel World
Champion, and has quickly become a mainstay of competitive Dueling. He’s using a
Dragon Link strategy, which chains Dragons after Dragons to get powerful Link
and Synchro Monsters on the field.
For this Top 16 Feature Match, we have two Duelists from across the globe! We have Steven Santoli back again for another Feature Match. Hailing from Hamilton, ON, he’s the only Exosister Duelist to have made Top 32. His opponent is Jamie Hunter, from Sheffield, England, playing a Runick Spright Fur Hire Deck. This variant has become quite popular lately, so let’s see what the hype is about!
This Round 7 Feature Match pits two friends against each other! Michael Thomas and Joe Dietrich are both from Chicago and see each other all the time, but fate has brought them together in this not-so-remote Remote Duel. Thomas even borrowed cards from Dietrich for this event! He’s playing Adventure Spright, while Thomas is on Bystial Dragon Link. Friends or not, only one can win this Match!
We’re only halfway through the first day of Dueling, and the
matches are only getting better! In this Feature Match we have David
Borgognoni, from Little Rock, AK, playing Branded Despia. He’s facing Dylan
Robertson, from Valley, NE, using a Bystial Spright Synchro Deck!
Over 3200 Duelists have been reduced to just the Top 8. This
is the only remaining non-Kashtira matchup in the Top 8. Jesse Flores, from
Dallas, TX, is representing Runick Naturia. He’s up against Hisam Jawhari, from
Louisiana, playing Tri-Brigade Sprights. It’s been a long road for these
Duelists, but only one can move on from here!
We’re in the final Swiss round of the day for the 250th
YCS in Los Angeles! This time we’re featuring Adrian Gonzalez, from Chicago,
IL, fresh off a Top Cut finish at TEAM YCS Las Vegas. He’s using the same
strategy as then: Live☆Twin Sprights! His opponent is
Jonathan Lu, from San Francisco, CA, using the ever popular Kashtira.
We’re halfway into Day 1 here at the 250th YCS in
Los Angeles! First up is Cobi Tappa, from Chicago, IL, playing a Deck that
mixes Kashtira, Tearlaments, and Adventure all together. Combining multiple
engines to get the best of all! His opponent is Edgar Barajas, from Torrence,
CA, playing Sprights. The strategy is very much alive even without Spright
Elf, and he’s here to prove it.
