For Round 7 we have two Duelists that are both 5-1. Sathe Khaldi is from Michigan and has topped 7 Regional Qualifiers during his Dueling career. Farukh Bhatti’s from New Jersey and recently finished in the Top 64 at the NAWCQ in Austin. Khaldi’s our lone Purrely Duelist at the Top Tables right now, and lost his undefeated streak last round to a Tenpai Duelist. Bhatti’s piloting Tenpai this weekend.
Will Sathe’s Purrely monsters be able to take down Bhatti’s Tenpais? There’s only one way to find out…
We’re halfway through Day 1 here at YCS Niagara Falls! Rage of the Abyss is making a splash in the competitive scene, and we’re going to take a look at which Decks are sitting at the Top Tables here in Round 5.
Looking at just the Top 10 Tables, we can examine the Deck choices of the 20 top-ranked Duelists so far. Firs, two Runick decks are in contention: one Runick Stun and one that mixes Runick cards with White Forest. Both variants have been incredibly popular lately and have been seeing a fair amount of success today.
For this Round 11 Feature Match, we have a battle of FIRE Decks, but there’s no Snake-Eyes in sight here! From Boston, we have Benjamin Rosen with Tenpai Dragons! He’s facing Virginia Duelist Sean Washington, using Salamangreat! These Duelists have 8-2 records, so they’re desperate for a win to keep the Top 64 dream alive.
Here we are in Round 1 of the Dragon Duel Championship! We’ve got a great matchup for this Feature Match, starting with Pennsylvania Duelist Rylan D. and his Tenpai Dragon Deck! His facing Nicholas R., here from New York City with his Fiendsmith Snake-Eye Deck! These are two of the biggest Decks of the format, each using new cards from The Infinite Forbidden to bolster their already formidable status.
We’re approaching the end of Day 1 here at YCS Indianapolis. Andy Bazzi and Christopher Brooker each have 6 wins and 1 loss, leaving them with 18 points. Players need 19 points to advance to Day 2, so either player would be able to secure their Day 2 spot with a win this round, though both players will want as many points as possible in order to try and make the top 32. It’s time to Duel!

Read more…We’re halfway through the first day of YCS Indianapolis, and the best Decks are making their way to the top. We have Brandon Miotke with us for this Feature Match, here from Deerborn, MI, with a Tenpai Snake-Eye Deck. He’s facing Owen Alvarado, from New Orleans, LA, using Centur-Ion. Tenpai are a new strategy from Legacy of Destruction, and Centur-Ions also got a huge boost from the set, making this an LEDE battle!

ONE MORE PIECE!” as Leonard assembled Exodia the Forbidden One to the delight of all! Now that we’ve returned to Indianapolis, we simply had to cover Leonard. His Exodia strategy used the now Forbidden Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights, so he’s swapped to Tenpai Dragons – Deck just as capable of a one-turn KO!
His opponent is Zach Yocum, here from New Jersey. Like Leonard, Yocum is using new cards from Legacy of Destruction, with a mix of Lightsworn, Horus, and Centur-Ion! This strategy opens up many of Synchro and Xyz plays, with a lot of different ways to get value from the Graveyard.
