CAWQP Registration Information
Q: What is the CAWQP Playoff and how do I qualify to play in it?
A: Throughout the course of the 2025-2026 Organized Play season, Duelists have been earning World Qualifying Points by competing at Regional Qualifiers, Latin America WCQ – National , Dragon Duels, OTS Championships, and at the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series. Whenever a Duelist places high enough in those events to earn an invite to the WCQ, they earn World Qualifying Points based on their standing.
On Friday, June 5th at the CAWCQ, the Top 16 Points earners from the 2025-2026 Organized Play season in Central America, based on the chart below are eligible to register for this special playoff tournament. Eligible Duelists can check in and register for the World Qualifying Points Playoff between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM
You can find the Top Points earners for the 2025-2026 Organized Play season here:
https://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/wqp
A total of 16 Duelists will compete in the World Qualifying Playoff. See the charts below for the breakdown:
| Central America | Number of Invites to the Playoff from the 2025-2026 Season |
| Costa Rica/Panama | 2 |
| Guatemala/El Salvador | 2 |
| Honduras/Nicaragua | 2 |
| Jamaica/Dominican Republic | 2 |
| Mexico | 8 |
Deck Lists will be required when you register for the CAWQP. Registration will be online, and your Deck List must be submitted online. You can prepare your Deck Lists ahead of time at https://registration.yugioh-card.com/ to have them ready when you register.
Eligible Duelists must be present to claim their spot to compete. If any of the Top Points earners are not present to play, the Playoff spot will then be given to the next ranked Duelist based on the country breakdown above. For example, if only 1 Duelist from Costa Rica is missing from the Top 16 Duelists then the next Duelist in line to compete will be the third place Duelist from Costa Rica and Panama’s leaderboard. Same example will apply for any other leaderboard. Duelists must register and be present no later than 10:00 AM in order to be called if there is an open spot. We encourage any of the Top Points earners from the 2025-2026 season to check in between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM so that we can quickly fill any open spots if needed.
The 16 Duelists from the 2025-2026 season who attend the CAWCQ and register and claim their spot for the CAWQP, based on the chart above will then play in an Advanced Constructed, Single-Elimination Tournament. The winner of the Playoff will win an invite to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship 2026.
