Advanced Format Round 5 Feature Match: Ethan Ledyard Lindley vs. Justus Kayin Currie
For our Round 5 Advanced Format Feature Match, our two Duelists are using different strategies linked to Medius the Pure. Ethan Ledyard Lindley is playing the DoomZ Deck, while Justus Kayin Currie is playing the Elfnote Deck! Both players aim to make use of Medius and the new Power Patron monsters. Which Duelist will come out of this round with their undefeated records in tact? Let’s find out! It’s time to Duel!
Duel 1
Currie opened with Prohibited Power Patron Portal – Terminus, Droll & Lock Bird, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, The Fallen & The Virtuous, and Elfnote Lucina.

Lindley started by Normal Summoning Power Patron DoomZ. He then activated the effect of DoomZ XII Zero – Drastea in hand, destroying the Power Patron, Special Summoning Drastea, and equipping it with DoomZ Command “A.D.R.A.S.T.E.I.A.”. Next, he used the effect of the destroyed Power Patron to search for DoomZ VII Seven – Elara, and on resolution, Currie activated the effect of Droll & Lock Bird! Lindley activated the effect of Drastea, using it to Xyz Summon DoomZ XII End – Drastrius. Finally, he Set a card to his backrow and ended his turn.
Currie drew Elfnote Power Patron for turn! He started by activating Prohibited Power Patron Portal – Terminus, sending Elfnote Power Patron to the Graveyard to search for Medius the Pure. On resolution, Lindley activated the effect of his own Droll & Lock Bird! Currie Special Summoned Elfnote Lucina, then Normal Summoned Medius. However, when he activated the effect of Medius, Lindley responded with the effect of Drastrius, negating Medius’ effect and equipping Medius to Drastrius as an Equip Spell Card. Currie Set a card to his backrow and ended his turn.
Lindley began his turn by Normal Summoning DoomZ VII Seven – Elara and activating its effect to Set DoomZ Raiders to his backrow. He then activated the effect of DoomZ Command “A.D.R.A.S.T.E.I.A.” in his Graveyard, equipping it to Elara. However, when he activated Elara’s effect, Currie Chained The Fallen & The Virtuous, destroying Elara and preventing it from resolving its effect! Next, Lindley used Drastrius to Xyz Summon DoomZ XIII Over – Graflareio; however, when he activated its effect, Currie Chained the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Lindley then activated Raiders and used its effect to destroy Graflareio and Special Summon DoomZ V Five – Amalthe from his Deck. He used Amalthe’s effect to search for DoomZ XII Zero – Drastea, as well as Graflareio’s effect to Special Summon Jupredo the Shademachine Power Patron from the Deck.
Next, Lindley activated the effect of Drastea in hand, destroying Jupredo, Special Summoning Drastea, and equipping it with DoomZ Command “D.O.O.M.D.U.R.G” from the Deck. He then activated the effect of the destroyed Jupredo, searching for DoomZ Change. He activated Change, and Chained the effect of Drastea to destroy Change, allowing him to destroy DoomZ Destruction from his Deck. He added Destruction back to hand and equipped Drastea with Jupredo, then used Drastea’s effect to Xyz Summon another DoomZ XII End – Drastrius! He equipped Drastrius with Currie’s Lucina and proceeded to the Battle Phase, attacking Currie’s Life Points directly with Drastrius and Amalthe, then Set a card to his backrow and ended his turn. During the End Phase, Currie activated the effect of Albion the Branded Dragon in his Graveyard, but Lindley responded with the effect of Drastrius, negating it.
Currie drew another copy of Elfnote Lucina for turn! He activated the effect of Medius in the Graveyard, Special Summoning it back to the field, but when he activated its effect, Lindley Chained Infinite Impermanence! Currie was out of ways to push through Lindley’s board, and conceded the first Duel.

Duel 2
Currie chose to go first in the second Duel! He opened with Vidolium the Unstable Power Patron of Unity, Elfnote Lucina, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous, and Solemn Warning. During the Draw Phase, Lindley activated the effect of Dimension Shifter! Currie set a card to his backrow, Normal Summoned Ecclesia, and ended his turn.

Lindley began his turn by activating Lightning Storm, destroying Currie’s face-down Solemn Warning. However, he then ended his turn without making any more plays.
Currie drew Medius the Pure for turn! He Normal Summoned it and activated its effect, but Lindley Chained the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Currie then used Ecclesia and Medius to Synchro Summon Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon. He activated Dark Dragon’s effect, banishing it to Special Summon Fallen of the White Dragon from his Deck, then used White Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Ecclesia from the Graveyard. He proceeded to the Battle Phase and attacked Lindley’s Life Points directly with both Ecclesia and White Dragon, then in Main Phase 2, used the two to Synchro Summon Psy-Framelord Omega. He activated Omega’s effect and banished a copy of DoomZ Raiders from Lindley’s hand, then ended his turn. During the End Phase, Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon returned to Currie’s side of the field.
Lindley started his turn by activating Vidolium the Unstable Power Patron of Unity as a Pendulum Scale! He then used its effect, destroying it to search for Prohibited Power Patron Portal – Terminus. He activated Terminus, sending Jupredo the Shademachine Power Patron to the Graveyard to add his own Medius the Pure to hand, then Normal Summoned Medius and activated its effect to Special Summon Power Patron DoomZ from his Deck. Here, Currie activated the effect of Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon, but Lindley responded with the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring! Lindley followed up by using Power Patron DoomZ’s effect, allowing him to use Medius to Xyz Summon Doomz Break – Diactorus and equip it with Power Patron DoomZ. He then used Diactorus to Xyz Summon DoomZ XIII Over – Graflareio, and activated the effect of the destroyed Power Patron to search for DoomZ Raiders. Next, he used Graflareio’s effect to search for DoomZ Change, then activated Raiders. However, when he activated the effect of Raiders, Currie Chained the effect of Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, destroying it before it could resolve its effect!
Lindley next activated Change, destroying DoomZ V Five – Amalthe from his Deck, then used the effect of the destroyed Amalthe to search for DoomZ XII Zero – Drastea. He activated Drastea’s effect, destroying Graflareio, Special Summoning Drastea, and equipping it with DoomZ Command “D.O.O.M.D.U.R.G”. Next, he activated Graflareio’s effect, Special Summoning DoomZ VII Seven – Elara from the Graveyard and Setting DoomZ Command “A.D.R.A.S.T.E.I.A.” to his backrow. Finally, Lindley activated Drastea’s effect, Special Summoning DoomZ XII End – Drastrius and equipping it with Currie’s Dark Dragon, then ended his turn.
Currie drew Elfnote Lucina for turn! During the Standby Phase, Omega returned to Currie’s side of the field. Currie activated the effect of Medius the Pure in the Graveyard, Special Summoning it back, but when he activated its effect, Lindley Chained the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring! Here, Currie Special Summoned Elfnote Lucina and activated its effect, but Lindley Chained the effect of Drastrius, negating Lucina’s effect and equipping Drastrius with Currie’s Omega! Currie sent Lucina to the Graveyard to Special Summon Elfnote Regina, then used Regina’s effect to Special Summon Elfnote Tinia from his Deck. Here, Lindley activated the effect of DoomZ VII Seven – Elara, Special Summoning Doomz Break – Diactorus! He used Diactorus’ effect to destroy Raiders in hand as well as Currie’s Tinia, and in the following chain, he activated the effect of the destroyed Raiders to destroy Currie’s Regina. Currie then ended his turn.
Lindley used Diactorus to Xyz Summon DoomZ XIII Over – Graflareio! Here, Currie knew that he couldn’t defend his Life Points from Lindley’s swarm of DoomZ monsters, and conceded.

Lindley wins the round and maintains his perfect 5-0 record!
