It all comes down to this!  It’s a Pendulum mirror-Match in the Finals of YCS Atlanta with Dablessin Wilson from Waukegan, Illinois taking on Jeremy Mitchell from Jacksonville, Florida.  Only one of these Duelists will walk away with an Ultra Rare Number 89: Diablosis the Mind Hacker and the title of YCS Champion!  For the last time this weekend, it’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Jeremy Mitchell won the roll and elected to go first.  He started with a Normal Summoned Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm whose effect added Supreme King Gate Zero from Deck to hand.  Next, he activated Astrograph Sorcerer to the Pendulum Zone and used the effect to destroy it to Special Summon Stargazer Magician from the Deck.  Next, he used the two monsters to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite.  He then activated Supreme King Gate Zero, then used Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect to destroy Supreme King Gate Zero and add Astrograph Sorcerer from the Extra Deck to his hand. Then Astrograph Sorcerer was Special Summoned and added another Gate Zero to his hand.  Wisdom-Eye Magician and Harmonizing Magician were placed in the Pendulum Zones and Wisdom-Eye Magician’s effect placed Oafdragon Magician from the Deck to the Pendulum Zone.  Next, Mitchell Pendulum Summoned Supreme King Gate Zero and Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm from the Extra Deck along with Wisdom-Eye Magician from his hand.  Next, the two Level 7 monsters were used to Xyz Summon Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon.  Heavymetalfoes Electrumite and the Dragon were used to Link Summon Zefra Metaltron.  Absolute’s effect Special Summoned Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon, then Wisdom-Eye Magician and Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm were used to Xyz Summon Tornado Dragon.  Mitchell passed there.

Dablessin Wilson started with a hand of Oafdragon Magician, 2 copies of Astrograph Sorcerer, Supreme King Gate Zero and 2 copies of Harmonizing Magician.  He placed Astrograph Sorcerer in the Pendulum Zone and proceeded to use the effect to Special Summon Stargazer Magician from the Deck.  He then Normal Summoned Harmonizing Magician and used the two monsters to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite.  He activated the effect, but Mitchell Chained Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit to destroy Heavymetalfoes Electrumite.  Wilson resolved the effect and sent Chronograph Sorcerer from the Deck to the Extra Deck.  After the Chain resolved, Wilson activated his in-hand Astrograph Sorcerer; but Mitchell Chained Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon to negate and destroy it.  (Mitchell sent Stargazer Magician back to the Deck from the Extra Deck.) Wilson then placed Harmonizing Magician and Oafdragon Magician in the Pendulum Zones, but Mitchell used Tornado Dragon to blast away the Harmonizing Magician and Wilson conceded the Duel.

Duel 2

Dablessin Wilson elected to go first in Duel 2.  He started with a hand of 2 Purple Poison Magicians, Pendulum Call, Astrograph Sorcerer, and Black Fang Magician.  He activated Astrograph Sorcerer, and used its Pendulum effect to destroy itself to Special Summon Stargazer Magician to the field.  Next, he Normal Summoned Purple Poison Magician and used the two monsters to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite.  He then activated Purple Poison Magician and Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect to destroy Purple Poison Magician and add back the Astrograph Sorcerer from the Extra Deck to the hand.  Astrograph Sorcerer was then Special Summoned to the field and he added another Purple Poison Magician from Deck to hand.  Heavymetalfoes Electrumite also let him draw an Oafdragon Magician.  Wilson then activated Pendulum Call, discarding Purple Poison Magician to add Harmonizing Magician and a Wisdom-Eye Magician.  He then placed Oafdragon Magician and Black Fang Magician in the Pendulum Zones, then Pendulum Summoned 2 Purple Poison Magicians from the Extra Deck and Harmonizing Magician from the hand.  Harmonizing Magician’s effect Special Summoned Wisdom-Eye Magician from the Deck.  Purple Poison Magician and Wisdom-Eye Magician were used to Link Summon another Heavymetalfoes Electrumite whose effect sent Astrograph Sorcerer from the Deck to the Extra Deck.  Next, Wilson used the new Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect to destroy the first one to add back Astrograph Sorcerer, whose effect was used to Special Summon itself.  Astrograph Sorcerer and another one were used to Xyz Summon Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon, then it and Heavymetalfoes Electrumite were used to Link Summon Zefra Metaltron, and Absolute Dragon’s effect brought Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon to the field.  Oafdragon Magician’s effect added Purple Poison Magician and Mitchell then Xyz Summoned Evilswarm Nightmare using Harmonizing Magician and Purple Poison Magician.

Mitchell drew for turn.  He Normal Summoned Purple Poison Magician.  He attacked Zefra Metaltron with Purple Poison Magician, then Purple Poison’s effect was used to destroy Evilswarm Nightmare.  Zefra Metaltron’s effect activated, letting Wilson add an Astrograph Sorcerer from the Graveyard back to his hand.  Mitchell then activated Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries, revealing Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom.  Wilson banished 1 copy of the Fusion Monster.  At the end of the Battle Phase, Mitchell activated Evenly Matched from his hand!  Wilson was forced to use Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon to send Stargazer Magician back to the Deck to negate and destroy Evenly Matched.  In Main Phase 2, he activated two copies of Wisdom-Eye Magician in the Pendulum Zones.  He used one effect to place Oafdragon Magician and used that effect to add Wisdom-Eye Magician back to his hand.  He then Pendulum Summoned Wisdom-Eye Magician and Purple Poison Magician.  Next, the two monsters were used to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite whose effect sent Astrograph Sorcerer from the Deck to the Graveyard.  He then used the other Wisdom-Eye Magician to place Purple Poison Magician in the Pendulum Zone.  Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect destroyed Purple Poison Magician while picking Astrograph Sorcerer up from the Extra Deck.  Astrograph Sorcerer’s effect Special Summoned it while Purple Poison Magician’s effect destroyed Zefra Metaltron.  After that Chain resolved, Wilson activated Astrograph Sorcerer, using its effect to add Wisdom-Eye Magician from his Deck to his hand.

Wilson drew Pot of Desires.  He activated Black Fang Magician’s Pendulum effect to halve Wilson’s Astrograph Sorcerer and that was enough to force a concession.  We’re going into a third and final Duel!

Duel 3

Jeremy Mitchell elected to go first in Duel 3.  Wilson started with a hand of Evenly Matched, 2 copies of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Oafdragon Magician, and Chronograph Sorcerer.  Mitchell started with Black Fang Magician and Oafdragon Magician in the Pendulum Zone.  He then Pendulum Summoned 3 monsters: Harmonizing Magician, Supreme King Gate Zero and Purple Poison Magician.  Harmonizing Magician’s effect was activated, but Wilson chained Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to stop it.  Mitchell used Harmonizing Magician and Purple Poison Magician to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite and its effect sent Astrograph Sorcerer from the Deck to the Extra Deck.  Next, Heavymetalfoes Electrumite used its effect, destroying Black Fang Magician and adding Astrograph Sorcerer back to Mitchell’s hand.  Astrograph Sorcerer came out and another Black Fang Magician was added to Mitchell’s hand.  Next, Mitchell used Astrograph Sorcerer and Supreme King Gate Zero to Xyz Summon Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon and the 2 monsters left were used to Link Summon Zefra Metaltron.  Absolute’s effect Special Summoned Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon.  He passed there.

Wilson drew for turn, he went to the end of the Battle Phase and activated Evenly Matched.  Mitchell kept Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon on the field.  Wilson then placed Wisdom-Eye Magician and Oafdragon Magician in his Pendulum Zones.  He used Wisdom-Eye Magician to place Black Fang Magician in the Pendulum Zone, and in a new Chain, Wilson activated Chronograph Sorcerer’s Monster effect from his hand.  Mitchell allowed it and Chronograph Sorcerer came to the field.  Wisdom-Eye Magician was then Normal Summoned and the two monsters were used to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite. Its effect was activated, but Mitchell chained Vortex’s effect. That was enough.

“You’re a YCS Champion!”, Wilson said.  He extended the handshake and that was it!
