Round 3 Feature Match: Alexander Simpson vs. Cameron Neal

August 25th, 2018

Alexander Simpson from Kansas City, Missouri is Dueling in his home town! He’s currently 2-0 in the tournament with his Danger! Deck featuring Infernoid and Burning Abyss monsters, and he’s Dueling against Cameron Neal from Dallas, Texas in this Round 3 Feature Match! Danger! cards were first introduced in Cybernetic Horizon, and although most Duelists immediately acknowledged their power, many Duelists have been struggling to fit them into the current competitive environment. By combining his Danger! cards with Infernoid and Burning Abyss monsters to create synergy among the three, Simpson believes he found a way to integrate the Danger! cards into the current tournament scene. Cameron Neal is using a tried-and-true Gouki strategy that he is hoping will overwhelm Simpson. It’s time to Duel!

He Set Danger! Zone, Ceasefire, and Graff before ending his turn.

Neal randomly discarded Raigeki from his hand, causing Simpson to Special Summon Bigfoot and draw another Void Imagination from his Deck. He Set it to his back row and then ended his turn.

Neal Set and activated The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine, Special Summoning it to his field.

He activated Instant Fusion next, Special Summoning Invoked Raidjin. Then, he combined his 2 monsters to Link Summon Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights. He added Bearhug to his hand with Isolde’s effect and then used Isolde’s effect to send Divine Sword – Phoenix Blade from his Graveyard and Special Summon Octostretch from his Deck. He combined Octostretch with Isolde to Link Summon Summon Sorceress, and then used Octostretch’s effect to add Gouki Suprex from his Deck to his hand. He Summoned it and then activated the effect of Summon Sorceress to Special Summon Gouki Headbatt from his Deck. He banished 2 Warriors from his Graveyard to return the Divine Sword to his hand and then Link Summoned Knightmare Phoenix. He activated Gouki Re-Match next, Special Summoning 2 more Goukis to his field, and then Link Summoned Firewall Dragon! From there, he was able to flood the field with monsters by repeatedly using Firewall Dragon’s effect to Special Summon monsters from his hand and by performing Link Summons. Eventually, he had a field full of monsters.
