Welcome to the Top 32! It’s Single Elimination from here on out, and we’re starting off with a good one! We saw Randy Moreno in action during Round 9 with Lunalight Orcust. His opponent, Yishan McNabb from California, has a Deck centered around the Golden Castle of Stromberg! He was featured in Round 2 and took the win in convincing fashion. Only one of these Duelists will advance to the Top 16. It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

McNabb won the roll and elected to go second. Moreno started off with Fire Formation – Tenki adding Lunalight Kaleido Chick from his Deck to his hand. McNabb read it for a moment. He Normal Summoned it and activated its effect, sending Lunalight Yellow Martin from the Deck to the hand to copy its name. He activated Lunalight Tiger as a Pendulum. He used Tiger’s effect to Special Summon Lunalight Yellow Martin from the Graveyard. He used both monsters to Xyz Summon Raidraptor – Force Trix. Moreno activated Force Strix’s effect, detaching Lunalight Yellow Martin to add Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite from his Deck to his hand. He used Lunalight Yellow Martin’s effect, bouncing Tiger back to his hand to Special Summon Lunalight Yellow Martin from the Graveyard. He used Lunalight Yellow Martin and Raidraptor – Force Trix to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix (Lunalight Yellow Martin was banished). Phoenix went to the Graveyard to Link Summon Knightmare Mermaid. Mermaid’s effect let Moreno discard Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite to Special Summon Orcust Knightmare from the Deck. Tiger was activated again, and its effect Special Summoned Lunalight Kaleido Chick from the Graveyard. Chick’s effect sent Lunalight Emerald Bird from the Deck to the Graveyard to copy its name. Zephyros bounced Tiger back to the hand to Special Summon the Blackwing from the Graveyard. All the monsters that weren’t Knightmare Mermaid were used to Link Summon Curious the Lightsworn Dominion! Moreno used its effect to send Summon Limit from the Deck to the Graveyard, then sent the top 3 cards to the Graveyard, hitting PSY-Frame Driver, PSY-Framegear Gamma and Luna Light Perfume. he activated Tiger once again, and Special Summoned Lunalight Emerald Bird from the Graveyard. Emerald Bird’s effect activated (and was negated because of Tiger’s effect). Emerald Bird and Curious the Lightsworn Dominion were used to Link Summon Knightmare Gryphon! He discarded Orcust Harp Horror to Set Summon Limit from the Graveyard and draw a card. Moreno activated Foolish Burial Goods, sending Lunalight Serenade Dance from the Deck to the Graveyard. He activated the Serenade Dance’s effect, banished it from the Graveyard, discarded Lunalight Yellow Martin form his hand and Special Summoned Lunalight Kaleido Chick from his Deck. Lunalight Kaleido Chick’s effect sent Lunalight Wolf from the Deck to the Graveyard. He activated Orcust Knightmare’s effect in Graveyard, sending Orcust Cymbal Skeleton to the Graveyard, then activated that effect, banishing it to Special Summon Orcust Harp Horror from the Graveyard. Moreno then activated Foolish Burial, sending World Legacy – “World Wand” from the Deck to the Graveyard. He used World Legacy – “World Wand”’s effect to Special Summon the banished Orcust Cymbal Skeleton. He sent it and Knightmare Mermaid to Link Summon Galatea, the Orcust Automaton. He activated Galatea’s effect, sending back an orcust card to Set Orcust Crescendo directly from the Deck. Orcust Harp Horror and Lunalight Kaleido Chick to Xyz Summon Time Thief Redoer. Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star went over Galatea, the Orcust Automaton. Dingirsu attached the banished World Legacy – “World Wand” to it.

McNabb drew Danger! Thunderbird!. He had a hand of Terraforming, Golden Castle of Stromberg, Super Polymerization, Called by the Grave and Monster Reborn. He activated Super Polymerization, discarding Thunderbird and sending Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star and Time Thief Redoer to Fusion Summon Starving Venom Fusion Dragon! Thunderbird’s effect destroyed Moreno’s Summon Limit! McNabb then activated the Golden Castle of Stromberg! He used its effect to Special Summon Hexe Trude from the Deck! Starving Venom attacked directly, followed by Hexe Trude! Just like that, Moreno was at 2200 LP! In Main Phase 2, Hexe Trude destroyed Moreno’s Orcust Crescendo! He then Xyz Summon Number 68: Sanaphond the Sky Prison! Moreno used Orcust Crescendo’s effect, banishing it from the Graveyard to add Orcust Knightmare from his Deck to his hand. McNabb detached a material from Number 68 to prevent monsters from being Special Summoned form the Graveyard until McNabb’s next turn.

Moreno drew to 2 cards in hand, a Fire Formation – Tenki and a Tiger on the field, facing down a Number 68, a Golden Castle of Stromberg and Set Called by the Grave! In the Standby Phase, McNabb activated Called by the Grave to banish the Orcust Harp Horror in Moreno’s Graveyard. Moreno activated Luna Light Perfume’s effect, banishing it and discarding Orcust Knightmare to add Lunalight Kaleido Chick from his Deck to his hand. He Normal Summoned Lunalight Kaleido Chick and used its effect, sending Lunalight Panther Dancer from the Extra Deck to the Graveyard. He activated World Legacy – “World Wand”’s effect, banishing it from the Graveyard to Special Summon the banished Orcust Harp Horror. He used both monsters to Xyz Summon Outer Entity Nyarla. Then Moreno put Outer Entity Azathot on top of it.

McNabb banished the top 10 cards of his Deck thanks to Golden Castle of Stromberg. He Normal Summoned Hexe Trude without Tributes by its own effect! He activated Hexe Trude’s effect, destroying Azathot. McNabb activated Monster Reborn targeting Moreno’s Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star! Dingirsu’s effect sent Tiger to the Extra Deck. The resulting attacks were enough to send this to the second Duel!

Duel 2

Moreno elected for McNabb to go first. McNabb started off with a hand of 2 copies of Glife the Phantom Bird, Foolish Burial, There Can Be Only One, Super Polymerization. He activated one of the Glife’s, discarding it to add the Golden Castle of Stromberg from his Deck to his hand which was activated. He used the Field’s effect to Hexe Trude form the Deck! McNabb then activated Foolish Burial, sending Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher from the Deck to the Graveyard. He activated Gizmek’s effect, banishing the top 8 cards to Special Summon it from the Graveyard. He used both monsters to Xyz Summon Number 68! He activated the effect, detaching Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher. He Set Super Polymerization and There Can Be Only One and passed.

Moreno activated Shaddoll Fusion, sending Shaddoll Dragon from his and Lunalight Yellow Martin from the Deck to Fusion Summon El Shaddoll Winda! Dragon’s Graveyard effect destroyed McNabb’s Super Polymerization while Lunalight Yellow Martin’s Graveyard effect added Lunalight Serenade Dance from his Deck to his hand. Moreno then activated Fire Formation – Tenki, adding Lunalight Kaleido Chick from his Deck to his hand. He activated Foolish Burial Goods next, sending Luna Light Perfume from his Deck to the Graveyard. He Normal Summoned Lunalight Kaleido Chick and used its effect to Lunalight Wolf from the Deck to the Graveyard. He banished Perfume form the Graveyard, discarding Lunalight Serenade Dance from his hand to add Lunalight Black Sheep from his Deck to his hand. He activated Lunalight Serenade Dance form the Graveyard, banishing it and discarding Orcust Cymbal Skeleton to Special Summon Lunalight Kaleido Chick from the Deck. He used Lunalight Kaleido Chick’s effect to send Lunalight Panther Dancer from the Extra Deck to the Graveyard. After that resolved, McNabb activated There Can Be Only One forcing Moreno to send a Lunalight Kaleido Chick to the Graveyard.

McNabb banished the top 10 cards for the Golden Castle of Stromberg, then banished the top 8 to Special Summon Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher from his Graveyard. McNabb activated Number 68: Sanaphond the Sky Prison’s effect, then Normal Summoned Gren Maju Da Eiza with 10,400 ATK!

Yishan McNabb moves on to the Top 16!
