There are two more Rounds of Swiss before the cut to Top 16, and now that we have a good idea of what’s out there, we can show you some of the unique Decks that made Day 2! Michael Johnson from Virgina has a record of 7-3-1 with Madolche! His opponent, Johnathan Marquiz Condecon-Acker from Milwaukee, Wisconsin also has a 7-3-1 record with Dinosaur Guardragon!  This is a combo Deck that can put up impressive fields on turn 1. Can Madolche Queen Tiaramisu break open some multiple-negate fields? It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Condecon-Acker won the roll and elected to go first.

Condecon-Acker started with Fossil Dig, getting Souleating Oviraptor from his Deck to his hand.  He then activated Unexpected Dai, Special Summoning Flamvell Guard from his Deck!  He Normal Summoned Souleating Oviraptor and used the effect to Carboneddon from his Deck to the Graveyard.  He sent both monsters to Synchro Summon Ib the World Chalice Justiciar.  Ib’s effect let Condecon-Acker add World Legacy Guardragon from his Deck to his hand.  Next, Carboneddon was banished to Special Summon Alexandrite Dragon from his Deck!  The dragon and Ib were used to Link Summon PSY-Framelord Lambda.  Ib’s Graveyard effect let Condecon-Acker Special Summon World Chalice Guardragon from the Deck.  He sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Guardragon Elpy.  He activated World Chalice Guardragon to Special Summon Alexandrite Dragon from the Graveyard.  He sent the Dragon to the Graveyard to Link Summon Guardragon Pisty.  He used its effect to move Pitsy one Zone to the left.  Guardragon Elpy’s effect let Condecon-Acker Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from the Deck to the zone Pisty and Lamba points to.  Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon brought back Alexandrite Dragon, then Lambda and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon were sent to the Graveyard to Link Summon Triple Burst Dragon, then Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon came back with Guardragon Pisty’s effect, then Triple Burst Dragon and Alexandrite were sent to Link Summon Dragunity Knight – Romulus!  Its effect let Condecon-Acker add Dragon Ravine from his Deck to his hand.  Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon’s effect brought back Triple Burst Dragon, then Guardragon Elpy and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon Link Summoned Guardragon Argapain.  Argapain’s effect Special Summoned Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss.  The other monsters were sent to Link Summon Saryuja Skull Dread!  Saryuja’s effect let Condecon-Acker draw 4 cards and bottom Deck 3.  He activated Dragon Ravine, then used the effect, discarding Miscellaneousaurus to send Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frission from the Deck to the Graveyard.  He then activated World Legacy Succession to Special Summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from the Graveyard which brought back Alexandrite Dragon.  Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frission’s effect let Condecon-Acker pay half his LP to Special Summon it from the Graveyard and reduce its Level by Alexandrite Dragon’s Level.  Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frission and Alex were used to Synchro Summon PSY-Framelord Zeta!  Saryuja Skull Dread and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon were used to Link Summon Hieratic Seal of Heavenly Spheres.  He activated Quick Launch to Special Summon Rokket Tracer from the Deck!  Tracer’s effect let Condecon-Acker destroy World Legacy Guardragon to Special Summon Silverrokket Dragon.  Silverrokket and Tracer were sent to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon Borreload Savage Dragon!  Its effect equipped Saryuja Skull Dread from the Graveyard!  Then Condecon-Acker banished Miscellaneousaurus to Special Summon Jurrac Aeolo from the Deck.  Condecon-Acker passed there.

Johnson started with a hand of Pot of Desires, Compulsory Evacuation Device, Solemn Warning, Upstart Goblin, Imperial Order, and Madolche Messengelato.  He activated Upstart Goblin to draw Madolche Anjelly.  He then activated Pot of Desires, banishing 10 but was negated by Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss’s effect.  He Normal Summoned Madolche Messengelato, prompting Condecon-Acker to read it.  Condecon-Acker Tributed Hieratic Seal of Heavenly Spheres to return Messengelato back to the hand.  The Dragon’s effect let Condecon-Acker Summoned Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms from the Deck!  He Set 3 cards and passed.  In the End Phase, Tempest returned to Condecon-Acker’s hand.

Condecon-Acker attacked with Borreload Savage Dragon. Johnson tried to activate Compulsory Evacuation Device on the Synchro Monster but Condecon-Acker negated the Trap with Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss.  Johnson conceded the Duel at this point.

Duel 2

Johnson elected to go first.  He started with a hand of Madolche Nights, Called by the Grave, Compulsory Evacuation Device, Solemn Judgment, and Madolche Messengelato.  He Set Messengelato, Set the other 4 cards and passed.

Johnson activated Fossil Dig, adding Miscellaneousaurus from his Deck to his hand.  He then Normal Summoned Souleating Oviraptor.  Johnson negated the summon with Solemn Judgment.  Condecon-Acker then activated Dragon Ravine.  He used Dragon Ravine’s effect, sending Miscellaneousaurus to send Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms to the Graveyard.  He attempted to activate Tempest’s effect, banishing Flamvell Guard and Alexandrite Dragon from his hand, but Johnson chained Called by the Grave to negate and banish Tempest.   Condecon-Acker then tried to activate Miscellaneousaurus’s effect, but Johnson chained Madolche Nights to negate the effect.  Condecon-Acker Set one and passed.

Johnson Flip Summoned Madolche Messengelato and attacked for 1600.

Condecon-Acker Normal Summoned Miscellaneousaurus.  Miscellaneousaurus attacked into Messengelato, prompting Johnson to activate Compulsory Evacuation Device to bounce Miscellaneousaurus back to Condecon-Acker’s hand.

Johnson drew Pot of Desires.  He activated it, banishing the top 10 cards of his Deck to draw Solemn Judgment and Imperial Order.  Messengelato attacked for 1600.  Johnson Set both Solemn Judgment and Imperial Order and passed.

Condecon-Acker Normal Summoned Miscellaneousaurus once again.  Johnson negated the Summon with Solemn Judgment, dropping Johnson to 2000 LP.

Johnson drew Black Horn of Heaven.  Messengelato attacked for 1600.  He Set the Counter Trap and passed.

Condecon-Acker Normal Summoned Rokket Tracer and passed.

Johnson drew Madolche Magilene.  He Normal Summoned it, used its effect to add Madolche Petingcessoeur from his Deck to his hand.  He activated its effect, Special Summoning it from his hand then used its on-field effect to Special Summon Madolche Anjelly form the Deck.  Anjelly was Tributed to Special Summon Madolche Hootcake from the Deck.  Hootcake’s effect banished Anjelly from the Graveyard, Special Summoing Messengelato from the Deck.  Messengelato’s effect added Madolche Ticket form the Deck to the hand, which was activated.  Two Messengelatos were used to Xyz Summon Madolche Queen Tiaramisu!  Its effect activated, detaching Messengelato, targeting it and Madolche Nights.  Condecon-Acker chained Rokket Tracer to destroy Dragon Ravine and Special Summon a Rokket from the Deck, Johnson chained Solemn Strike and Condecon-Acker chained Red Reboot to negate Solemn Strike! Condecon-Acker brought out Silverrokket Dragon, but before Johnson got to pick which cards to send back to Condecon-Acker’s Deck with Tiaramisu’s effect, Condecon-Acker elected to concede and go to the third Duel.

Duel 3

Condecon-Acker started with Fossil Dig, adding Souleating Oviraptor from his Deck to his hand.  Souleating Oviraptor was Normal Summoned but its effect was negated but Johnson’s Infinite Impermanence!  Condecon-Acker then activated Foolish Burial, sending Carboneddon, which as banished to Special Summoned Flamvell Guard.  Both monsters were used to Synchro Summon Ib, the World Chalice Justiciar which was used to add World Legacy Guardragon.  He activated the effect and used the Spell to Special Summon Flamvell Guard.  Both monsters were used to Link Summon PSY-Framelord Lambda, then Ib’s effect got World Legacy Guardragon and a flurry of plays later ended with this field:

Johnson drew, having to face a monstrous field.  But he had the answer!  He Tributed Condecon-Acker’s Hieratic Seal of Heavenly Spheres, Borreload Savage Dragon, and Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon for The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode!  Hieratic Seal of Heavenly Spheres’s Graveyard effect brought out Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frission.

Condecon-Acker had a Triple Burst Dragon, Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode and a Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frission on his field.  Could Condecon-Acker get 8000 damage against an empty field?  Time to find out!  He used Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms’s effect from the Graveyard, banishing 2 Dragons from the Graveyard to Special Summon it form the Graveyard.  He now had 4800 damage on the field.  Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frission and Sphere Mode were sent to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix.  All 3 monsters attacked, leaving Johnson at 1300 LP.  In Main Phase 2, Condecon-Acker Set a card, then used all 3 monsters to Link Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess with 2400 ATK!

Johnson drew, having Madolche Chateau, Madolche Magilene and Evenly Matched in his hand.  He went to the end of the Battle Phase and he activated Evenly Matched, but Condecon-Acker banished the Set card.  Condecon-Acker Normal Summoned Madolche Magilene, but Condecon-Acker negated the effect with Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess!  Johnson activated Chateau and passed.

Condecon-Acker used Tempest’s effect, bringing it back.  He activated Twin Twisters, discarding Dragon Ravine destroying Johnson’s Madolche Chateau.  Both monsters attacked to end the match!
