Nicolas Ortiz took third place in YCS Ft. Worth with his Sky Striker Deck!

The main bulk of the Deck is the same as your average Sky Striker Deck. You’re looking to control the Duel with cards like Widow Anchor and Shark Cannon, shutting down your opponent’s plays while you keep amassing more and more advantage through Engage and Multirole.

The big difference here is the Toon lineup. Most Sky Striker Decks take a bit to get three Spell Cards in the Graveyard to make the most of their cards. Ortiz’s Deck can use Toon Table of Contents, searching for each other, and finally getting Toon Cyber Dragon. That automatically puts three spells in the Graveyard and amps up the power of the Deck.

The Toon Cyber Dragon isn’t just there for show. It gives him immediate access to Chimeratech Megafleet Dragon to remove any problematic Extra Deck monster in the Extra Monster Zone and replace it with a huge monster of his own. Toon Cyber Dragon also gives him a free Summon if he needs to go for a different Link Monster.

The Deck brought him to a strong 3rd place finish out of over 1300 Duelists, proving that a little innovation can go a long way.
