The overall gameplan is the same as the Dinosaurs we’re used to. You’ll want to destroy your Babycerasaurus and Petiteranodon to get monsters Special Summoned from the Deck in order to begin some big plays. You can destroy those two with effects of cards like Souleating Oviraptor, Dragonic Diagram, and the True Kings.
The True Kings themselves also give him an advantage when they’re destroyed. Bahrastos will Special Summon Agnimazud from the Deck, and Agnimazud will add Bahrastos to the hand. These two alone can be tough to deal with, even without all the dinosaurs in the mix.
The strategy has many other Special Summon methods, with Miscellaneousaurus and Giant Rex in the mix, plus the built-in Special Summon effects of Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, Dinowrestler Pankratops, and Overtex Qoatlus. It’s extremely easy to field a bunch of monsters with this Deck.
Putting all those monsters on the field is where the Extra Deck comes in. You can combine your True Kings to play True King of All Calamities, which will completely shut down your opponent’s monsters for the turn. Any two Level 4 Dinos will give you an Evolzar, allowing you to negate whatever is most important depending on the match-up. Two Level 4’s plus Jurrac Aeolo gives you Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier to dismantle your opponent’s hand, field, and Graveyard. Randolph is playing multiple copies of the most important cards, allowing him to still play Pot of Extravagance safely.
Finishing in the Top 32 of over 1500 Duelists, Jarred Randolph has shown that Dinosaurs are able to compete with the best! Continue following the blog for more YCS Pasadena coverage, and tune into the stream to watch the action live.
