Deck Update – Structure Deck: Shaddoll Showdown
Shaddoll Decks were once one of the most popular Decks in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME, but have since fallen out of favor among Duelists. Structure Deck: Shaddoll Showdown, which was released on February 14th, 2020, aims to restore Shaddolls to their former glory.
New cards in Structure Deck: Shaddoll Showdown revitalize the Shaddoll theme and make it stronger than ever before. Last week at the Ultimate Duelist Series Invitational – Winter 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Carl Manigat took second place with his Shaddoll Invoked Deck, which was bolstered by new cards from Structure Deck: Shaddoll Showdown. Take a look at the cards he used that were just released recently in the new Structure Deck.
Reeshaddoll Wendi
Reeshaddoll Wendi is a new Level 3 monster with a couple of effects. First, its Flip Effect lets you Special Summon a different Shaddoll monster from your Deck in face-up or face-down Defense Position. Second, if Reeshaddoll Wendi is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, you can Special Summon a different Shaddoll monster from your Deck in face-down Defense Position. Reeshaddoll Wendi gives Shaddoll Duelists a new way to swarm the field with monsters, facilitating Link Summons and Fusion Summons. That’s why Manigat used 3 copies of Wendi in his Deck at the UDS Invitational – Winter 2020.
Naelshaddoll Ariel
Naelshaddoll Ariel is a new Level 4 monster with a Flip Effect that Special Summons one of your banished Shaddoll monsters in face-up or face-down Defense Position. Like Wendi, this card can be used to swarm the field with Shaddolls that facilitate strings of Summons. Ariel’s second effect lets you banish up to 3 cards from any Graveyards if it’s sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, which can be useful for removing key cards from an opponent’s Graveyard in a pinch. Manigat used a copy of Ariel in his Shaddoll Invoked Deck last weekend.
El Shaddoll Apkallone
El Shaddoll Apkallone is a new Fusion Monster in Structure Deck: Shaddoll Showdown with 2500 ATK that can be Summoned by fusing together 2 Shaddolls with different Attributes. Since the Shaddoll monsters span across a bunch of different Attributes, that’s a breeze for a Shaddoll Duelist to do. Apkallone can’t be destroyed by battle and has a couple of cool effects. Its first effect lets you target a face-up card on the field and negate its effects if Apkallone is Special Summoned. This effectively neutralizes one threat that your opponent has on the field. Apkallone’s second effect lets you add a Shaddoll card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand and then discard a card if Apkallone is sent to the Graveyard. This effect rewards Duelists for sending Apkallone to the Graveyard as a Link Material or Fusion Material. El Shaddoll Apkallone is a strong addition to any Shaddoll Deck, and Manigat used 1 copy in the Deck he played at the UDS Invitational last weekend.
Resh Shaddoll Incarnation
The Resh Shaddoll Incarnation Trap Card has a couple of cool effects. If it’s activated, its effect lets you target a Shaddoll monster in your Graveyard and Special Summon it in face-up or face-down Defense Position. While it’s in the Graveyard, you can banish it along with another Shaddoll card in your Graveyard to either change a face-down monster you control to face-up Defense Position or change a face-up monster you control to face-up Attack Position. This effect will let you quickly use the Flip Effects of your face-down Shaddoll monsters, or put your face-up Shaddoll monsters face-down so that you can use their Flip Effects again. Manigat only used 1 copy of Resh Shaddoll Incarnation in his Side Deck at the UDS Invitational last weekend, but many other Duelists in attendance used Resh Shaddoll Incarnation in their Main Decks.
In addition to powerful new Shaddoll cards, Structure Deck: Shaddoll Showdown also contains reprints of powerful cards like Instant Fusion, Super Polymerization, Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, and Dark Armed Dragon, as well as reprints of important Shaddoll cards that were previously released like Shaddoll Fusion and El Shaddoll Fusion. Plus, it contains 7 different “El Shaddoll” Fusion Monsters, including alternate art versions of El Shaddoll Winda and El Shaddoll Construct.
The power of Shaddolls has already been proven, and Duelists are looking to repeat some of the success of the Shaddoll Deck this weekend at Team YCS Las Vegas. You can get Structure Deck: Shaddoll Showdown in stores now!
