What is a “Remote Duel”?

June 24th, 2023

Are you new to “Remote Duels” for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME or confused about how this weekend’s Remote Duel YCS works? Here’s everything you need to know!

In a Remote Duel for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME, players can compete against one another from anywhere in the world! All they need is a video feed, a stable internet connection, and the ability to communicate with other Remote Duel participants. This weekend’s tournament is taking place in a Discord server, so players will need to create an account with Discord in order to compete.

If you’re competing in a Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Remote Duel, you’ll need a camera that points to your field of cards so that your opponent can see it. Everything that’s going on in the Duel is visible on that feed, so it’s just like Dueling in person!

Remote Duels are safe and convenient. Many of them also award incredible prizes similar to those that you can win at official in-person Konami tournaments. This weekend’s Remote Duel YCS, for example, awards prizing that is nearly identical to the prizing awarded at an in-person YCS, including the Ultra Rare Anotherverse Dragon prize card and special Anotherverse Dragon trophy for first place!

If you missed out on competing in this weekend’s Remote Duel YCS, be sure to create your Remote Duel setup so that you can compete in future Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Remote Duels. The next big official Remote Duel event will be the Yu-Gi-Oh! Remote Duel Extravaganza on July 29th and July 30th, and you can compete in it from your home!
