For this Round 7 Feature Match, we have Duelists facing off piloting some extremely interesting Decks! On one hand, Nicholas Braydon Moore is playing the DoomZ strategy, one that has recently been more popular in Advanced Format with the introduction of cards like Jupredo the Shademachine Power Patron; however, there are no Pendulum Monsters in Genesys Format, so the Decks are constructed in a different way. On the other hand, we have Alexandre Lebel playing the Hecahands Chimera Deck, an interesting combination of themes that relies heavily on Illusion monsters. Lebel and Moore each have 5-1 records, and a victory in this round almost certainly ensures that they’ll have a spot on Day 2. Let’s find out who will take the victory!

Duel 1

Moore opened the first Duel with Mulcharmy Fuwalos, DoomZ XII Zero – Drastea, Therion “King” Regulus, and two copies of Seventh Tachyon.

Lebel won the die roll and chose to go first! He started by Normal Summoning Mirror Swordknight and activating its effect. Moore Chained the effect of Mulcharmy Fuwalos, allowing him to draw a card as Lebel Special Summoned Big-Winged Berfomet and searched for Chimera Fusion and Gazelle the King of Mythical Claws. He then activated Chimera Fusion, using Berfomet and Gazelle to Fusion Summon Chimera the King of Phantom Beasts! He Special Summoned back Mirror Swordknight and searched for Hecahands Godos, then added Chimera Fusion back to hand. Here, Lebel activated the effect of Hecahands Mankibuel, using it and Hecahands Yadel from hand to Fusion Summon Hecahands Jauzah and search for The Hidden Hecahands. Lebel immediately activated The Hidden Hecahands, sending Mirror Swordknight to the Graveyard to search for Hecahands Yadel and Setting Ib’al Hechands to his backrow. He then activated the effect of Yadel in his hand, searching for Yad’al Hecahands. Finally, he Set two cards to his backrow. During the End Phase, Lebel resolved the effect of his Chimera, sending DoomZ XII Zero – Drastea in Moore’s hand to the Graveyard.

Moore began his turn by activating Seventh Tachyon, revealing Number 103: Ragnazero to search for Surfacing Big Jaws! Next, he activated Pair Bear Scare!!, destroying Lebel’s Jauzah, then Special Summoned Big Jaws. He searched for and Special Summoned Drake Shark, as Moore activated the effect of Godos, Special Summoning it to the field. Moore Normal Summoned Power Patron DoomZ then activated its effect, but Lebel Chained Ib’al Hecahands, negating the Power Patron’s effect and taking control of it! Afterwards, Lebel activated Chimera Fusion, using Power Patron DoomZ, Gazelle, and Chimera to Fusion Summon Guardian Chimera! This allowed him to search for Ibtel, destroy both of Moore’s monsters, and draw a card. 

Moore followed up by activating the effect of Therion “King” Regulus, targeting the Power Patron DoomZ in his Graveyard, but Lebel Chained the effect of Godos to Special Summon the Power Patron to his own side of the field. Moore proceeded to the Battle Phase and attacked Power Patron DoomZ with Regulus, allowing him to use the Power Patron’s effect to search for DoomZ Command “A.D.R.A.S.T.E.I.A.”. In Main Phase 2, he activated DoomZ Command “A.D.R.A.S.T.E.I.A.”, but Lebel Chained Yad’al Hecahands, negating it and Setting it to his own backrow. From here, Moore activated Premature Burial, Special Summoning back the DoomZ XII Zero – Drastea in his Graveyard! He activated its effect, Special Summoning DoomZ XII End – Drastrius and equipping it with Lebel’s Godos, used Drastrius to Xyz Summon DoomZ XIII Over – Graflareio, then used Graflareio’s effect to search for DoomZ Raiders and destroy Guardian Chimera. Moore activated Raiders, then used its effect to destroy Graflareio and Special Summon DoomZ V Five – Amalthe from his Deck! He activated the effects of Amalthe and Graflareio, resolving Amalthe’s effect to search for another copy of Drastea, but his Graflareio was met by the effect of Lebel’s Skull Meister! Moore Special Summoned DoomZ XII Zero – Drastea from hand by destroying Raiders, then equipped it with DoomZ Command “D.O.O.M.D.U.R.G” from his Deck and proceeded to the End Phase. Here, Lebel tried to activate the effect of his Chimera in the Graveyard, but Moore Chained the effect of Regulus to negate it. 

Lebel started his turn by Normal Summoning Gazelle and searching for another copy of Chimera Fusion. He then activated it, using Ibtel and Gazelle to Fusion Summon Berfomet the Mythical King of Phantom Beasts! This allowed him to search for Yadel, Special Summon back Jauzah, and send another copy of Yadel to the Graveyard. In the following Chain, he Set Ib’al Hecahands to his backrow, then added Chimera Fusion back to hand. Next, he activated the effect of Yadel, searching for Hecahands Tartaros, and used Jauzah’s effect to add Yadel from the Graveyard back to hand. He activated Chimera Fusion once again, using four materials to this time bringing out Chimera the Illusion Beast! Moore used the effect of Drastea to destroy Amalthe; when he tried to activate Drastea’s other effect, it was met by the effect of Lebel’s Mirror Swordknight, so Moore used the effect of the destroyed Amalthe to search for Elara. Afterwards, Moore activated the effect of Nibiru, the Primal Being, Tributing all monsters on the field and leaving Lebel with a Primal Being Token. Lebel activated Tartaros, banishing three Hecahands monsters from his Graveyard to Fusion Summon Hecahands Dandalos! He used its effect to take control of Moore’s Nibiru, then attacked Moore’s Life Points directly with Dandalos and ended his turn. 

Moore drew a card for turn, but knew that it wasn’t enough to stop Lebel’s following turn, and conceded the first Duel.

Duel 2

Moore chose to go first in the second Duel! He opened with Surfacing Big Jaws, Nibiru, the Primal Being, Cosmic Cyclone, and two copies of DoomZ Change. He started by activating Change, destroying Power Patron DoomZ from his Deck and searching for DoomZ VII Seven – Elara. He Normal Summoned Elara and equipped it with DoomZ Command “A.D.R.A.S.T.E.I.A.” from the Deck, then used Elara’s effect to Xyz Summon Doomz Break – Diactorus! He used Diactorus to Xyz Summon DoomZ XIII Over – Graflareio, then used Graflareio’s effect to search for DoomZ Raiders. Next, he activated Raiders and used its effect to destroy Graflareio and Special Summon DoomZ V Five – Amalthe from the Deck. He used Amalthe’s effect to search for DoomZ XII Zero – Drastea, then Special Summoned back Elara from the Graveyard and used the two to Xyz Summon Springans Merrymaker! He Xyz Summoned Gigantic “Champion” Sargas, used its effect to search for Therion “King” Regulus, then Special Summoned Regulus and equipped it with Power Patron DoomZ. Moore activated Drastea’s effect, destroying the Power Patron DoomZ to Special Summon Drastea and equip it with DoomZ Command “D.O.O.M.D.U.R.G”. Finally, he Set a card to his backrow and ended his turn. 

Lebel Set a card to his backrow, then activated The Hidden Hecahands, sending the Set card to the Graveyard, but Moore Chained the effect of Regulus to negate it. Lebel followed up by activating Illusion Gate, and Moore Chained the effect of Drastea, allowing him to bring out DoomZ XII End – Drastrius. Sargas was destroyed, and Lebel Special Summoned Regulus from Moore’s Graveyard! Next, Lebel activated the effect of Hecahands Ibtel, and Moore Chained the effect of Drastrius, destroying his own Raiders as Lebel Special Summoned Hecahands Breus from the Deck. In the following Chain, Moore activated the effect of the destroyed Raiders to destroy Regulus! Lebel activated the effect of Breus, but Moore Chained Drastrius’ effect, negating Breus’ effect and equipping Breus to Drastrius. Lebel Special Summoned Hecahands Gragas, then used its effect to Special Summon D.D. Crow from the top of Moore’s Deck. Used Crow and Gragas to Fusion Summon Jauzah. On resolution, Moore activated the effect of Nibiru the Primal Being! Lebel ended his turn with just a Primal Being Token on the field. 

Moore drew D.D. Crow for turn. He Normal Summoned DoomZ VII Seven – Elara and Set DoomZ Raiders to his backrow. Without any way to defend his Life Points, Lebel conceded, and we’re going on to game three!

Duel 3

Moore opened with Interrupted Kaiju Slumber, DoomZ V Five – Amalthe, Premature Burial, DoomZ Change, and D.D. Crow. 

Lebel chose to go first in the third Duel! He started by activating the effect of Hecahands Ibtel, Special Summoning Hecahands Gaigas from his Deck. He activated Gaigas’ effect, Special Summoning Kumongous, the Sticky String Kaiju from the top of Moore’s Deck, then used the two monsters to bring out Hecahands Jauzah and search for The Hidden Hecahands. Lebel Set a card to his backrow, then activated The Hidden Hecahands, searching for Hecahands Godos and Setting Ib’al Hecahands to his backrow. Finally, he Set one other card to his backrow and ended his turn. 

Moore drew Nibiru, the Primal Being for turn! He started by activating Interrupted Kaiju Slumber, destroying Jauzah and Special Summoning Jizukiru, the Star Destroying Kaiju to his own side of the field and Thunder King, the Lightning Strike Kaiju to Lebel’s field. Moore then activated DoomZ Change, destroying Power Patron DoomZ from his Deck and searching for DoomZ Raiders, as Lebel Special Summoned Hecahands Godos. Moore activated Raiders, but Lebel Chained Yad’al Hecahands to negate it and Set it to his own backrow! 

Next, Moore Normal Summoned DoomZ V Five – Amalthe and searched for DoomZ XII Zero – Drastea. He activated Drastea’s effect, but Lebel Chained Ib’al Hecahands to negate Drastea’s effect and Special Summon it to his own side of the field. Moore then activated Premature Burial, but Lebel Chained the effect of Godos, special summoning the Power Patron to his own side of the field. Moore proceeded to the Battle Phase, using Jizukiru and Amalthe to destroy Drastea and Power Patron DoomZ in battle, then ended his turn. 

Lebel started by activating Illusion Gate, destroying all monsters on Moore’s side of the field and Special Summoning Drastea, as Moore activated the effect of the destroyed Amalthe to search for DoomZ VII Seven – Elara. Lebel switched Godos to Attack Position and attacked Moore’s Life Points directly with all three of his monsters, reducing Moore’s Life Points to zero. 

With that, Lebel improves to a 6-1 record in the Genesys Championship at the North America WCQ!
