Celina mastered the “Lunalight” strategy in Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V, and now you can too with one of the Legendary ARC-V Decks! This Fusion-heavy strategy keeps its strongest monsters in the Extra Deck, and the monsters in the Main Deck work together to make Summoning them a breeze.

The Plan

Most of the time, the gameplan is simple: Fusion Summon one or more copies of Lunalight Liger Dancer as quickly as possible. It has 3800 ATK, 3500 DEF, and is unaffected by card effects, except for the effects of “Lunalight” cards.

That alone makes it insurmountable for many opponents. But to make it even tougher to take down, it also has a Quick Effect that that you can activate by sending a “Lunalight” monster from your Extra Deck to your Graveyard. This Quick Effect destroys all of your opponent’s Special Summoned monsters! Lunalight Liger Dancer can also attack twice in each Battle Phase, so that you can quickly defeat your opponent after Summoning it.

The Monsters that Carry Out the Plan

In order to Summon Lunalight Liger Dancer, you’ll need to fuse Lunalight Leo Dancer – a Level 10 Fusion Monster that normally uses 3 Fusion Materials to Summon it – with 3 “Lunalight” monsters. Fortunately, the “Lunalight” Deck included with the Legendary ARC-V Decks is designed to Summon Lunalight Liger Dancer starting with as few cards as possible.

Lunalight Gold Leo, Lunalight Black Sheep and Lunalight Kaleido Chick are particularly important to the Deck and its ability to Fusion Summon monsters. That’s why they’re all included in the Main Deck in multiples.

Black Sheep and Kaleido Chick each have an effect that will get you a card from the Graveyard if it’s sent to the Graveyard as a Fusion Material. Gold Leo has an effect that lets you retrieve a “Lunalight” monster that is sent to the Graveyard while Gold Leo is face-up on the field. These effects help the Deck recover cards so that they can continue performing Fusion Summons, even after using a bunch of cards as Fusion Materials in an initial Fusion Summon. Plus, these cards will help you assemble the combination of cards you need to perform a Fusion Summon.

Lunalight Gold Leo lets you add any “Lunalight” monster from your Deck to your hand and then discard a card if it’s Summoned. Lunalight Black Sheep has an effect that lets you discard it from your hand to get Polymerization from your Deck or a “Lunalight” monster from your Graveyard. Lunalight Kaleido Chick lets you send a “Lunalight” monster from your Deck or Extra Deck to the Graveyard as a cost for activating its effect, then lets you treat Kaleido Chick as if it had the name of the sent monster for any Fusion Summon you perform. A bunch of the “Lunalight” Fusion Monsters use other “Lunalight” Fusion monsters as Fusion Materials. Use Kaleido Chick’s effect to treat Kaleido Chick as one of those Fusion Monsters, and you’ll be able to Summon your strongest “Lunalight” Fusion monsters without Summoning the other ones first. Kaleido Chick’s effect is also handy for sending “Lunalight” monsters from your Main Deck to your Graveyard so that you can use their effects in the Graveyard or retrieve them from the Graveyard with other card effects.

Going First

The effects of the various “Lunalight” monsters work remarkably well together, allowing the Deck to easily Fusion Summon its strongest monsters. There’s even an easy combo that ends with 2 copies of Lunalight Liger Dancer and more on the field! You can do it on your very first turn, and all you’ll need is Lunalight Gold Leo in your hand. Here’s how to do it:

1. Normal Summon Lunalight Gold Leo.
2. Use Gold Leo’s effect to add Lunalight Yellow Marten from your Deck to your hand and discard it.
3. Activate Yellow Marten’s effect to add Lunalight Masquerade from your Deck to your hand.
4. Activate Masquerade and use its effect to send Lunalight Silver Hound from your Deck to your Graveyard.
5. Activate the effect of Silver Hound to Special Summon Lunalight Kaleido Chick from your Deck.
6. Activate Kaleido Chick’s effect by sending Lunalight Tiger from your Deck to your Graveyard.
7. Use the effect of the Lunalight Gold Leo on your field to return Lunalight Tiger from your Graveyard to your hand, since it was sent to your Graveyard.
8. Activate the effect of Lunalight Yellow Marten in your Graveyard to Special Summon it by returning Kaleido Chick from your field to your hand.
9. Use Lunalight Yellow Marten and Lunalight Gold Leo to Xyz Summon Brotherhood of the Fire Fist – Tiger King. Place it in any Main Monster Zone other than the center Main Monster Zone.
10. Use Tiger King’s effect to Set Fire Formation – Tenki from your Deck.
11. Activate Tenki to add Lunalight Black Sheep from your Deck to your hand.
12. Activate Black Sheep’s effect by discarding it. Add Polymerization from your Deck to your hand.
13. Place Lunalight Tiger in the Pendulum Zone and activate its effect to Special Summon Lunalight Black Sheep from the Graveyard.
14. Activate Polymerization to combine the Kaleido Chick in your hand with the Black Sheep on your field and Fusion Summon Lunalight Perfume Dancer in the center Main Monster Zone.
15. Activate the effects of Perfume Dancer, Kaleido Chick, and Black Sheep. Use Black Sheep’s effect to return Kaleido Chick from your Graveyard to your hand since the Black Sheep was sent to the Graveyard as material for a Fusion Summon; use Kaleido Chick’s effect to add Polymerization from your Graveyard to your hand since Kaleido Chick was sent to the Graveyard by a card effect; and use Lunalight Perfume Dancer’s effect to add Luna Light Perfume from your Deck to your hand.
16. Activate Lunalight Perfume Dancer’s other effect. Return the Lunalight Tiger in your Pendulum Zone back to your hand and Special Summon Kaleido Chick from your hand.
17. Activate Kaleido Chick’s effect by sending Lunalight Emerald Bird from your Deck to your Graveyard.
18. Send Kaleido Chick and Tiger King to the Graveyard to Link Summon Cross-Sheep. Regardless of which Extra Monster Zone you place it in, it will be pointing to the Perfume Dancer in the center column.
19. Place Lunalight Tiger from your hand back into the Pendulum Zone and activate its effect to Special summon Emerald Bird from your Graveyard to the other Main Monster Zone Cross-Sheep is pointing to.
20. Since a monster was Special Summoned to a zone Cross-Sheep points to, while one of its Link Arrows also pointed to a Fusion Monster, use Cross-Sheep’s effect to Special Summon Lunalight Kaleido Chick from your Graveyard.
21. Activate Kaleido Chick’s effect to send Lunalight Leo Dancer from your Extra Deck to your Graveyard, allowing you to treat Kaleido Chick as Lunalight Leo Dancer for a Fusion Summon. (Kaleido Chick going to the GY and back resets the “once per turn:”)
22. Activate Luna Light Perfume to Special Summon Lunalight Black Sheep from the Graveyard.
23. Activate Polymerization to fuse together Emerald Bird, Black Sheep, Perfume Dancer, and the Kaleido Chick that is treated as Lunalight Leo Dancer. This Fusion Summons your first Lunalight Liger Dancer.
24. Activate the effects of the Emerald Bird and Black Sheep in your Graveyard, as well as the Lunalight Masquerade on your field. Masquerade will return Polymerization from your Graveyard to your hand; Black Sheep’s effect will return Gold Leo from your Graveyard to your hand; and Emerald Bird’s effect will Special Summon Kaleido Chick back from the Graveyard with its effect negated and the “once per turn:” reset.
25. Activate Kaleido Chick’s effect by sending Gold Leo from your Deck to your Graveyard. Even though Kaleido Chick’s effect is negated, you’re still able to activate the Kaleido Chick’s effect and pay the cost of sending Gold Leo to the Graveyard.
26. Activate the effect of Luna Light Perfume in your Graveyard by banishing it and discarding Polymerization. Add Lunalight Wolf from your Deck to your hand.
27. Place Lunalight Wolf in a Pendulum Zone, then activate its effect. Fusion Summon your second Lunalight Liger Dancer by banishing Lunalight Leo Dancer, Lunalight Perfume Dancer, Lunalight Black Sheep, and Lunalight Gold Leo from your Graveyard.
28. Next, Pendulum Summon the Level 4 Gold Leo from your hand, since you have a card with a Pendulum Scale of 1 (Lunalight Wolf) and a card with a Pendulum Scale of 5 (Lunalight Tiger) in your Pendulum Zones.
29. Finally, use Gold Leo and Kaleido Chick as Link Materials to Link Summon S:P Little Knight. Alternatively, you can use both Level 4 monsters as Xyz Materials to Summon a Rank 4 Xyz Monster like Time Thief Redoer.

All of the cards needed for this combo are included in a single “Lunalight” Deck from the Legendary Arc-V Decks!

Going Second

The “Lunalight” Deck included in the Legendary ARC-V Decks also contains some strong cards for when you’re going second. Lunalight Fusion and Heavy Polymerization are two Spells that Fusion Summon monsters, and they’re strongest when the opponent has monsters on the field.

Lunalight Fusion lets you Fusion Summon a “Lunalight” Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck using monsters from your hand or field as material; but if your opponent controls a monster that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, you can also use a “Lunalight” monster from your Deck or Extra Deck as material! Heavy Polymerization similarly benefits from your opponent controlling monsters. It lets you Fusion Summon a Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck using 3 or more monsters from your hand or field; but if your opponent controls monsters, you can also banish monsters from your Extra Deck as material, up to the number of monsters your opponent controls, and lose Life Points equal to the total ATK of monsters banished this way, when the monster is Fusion Summoned. Both of these cards have the potential to let you use a Lunalight Leo Dancer in your Extra Deck as a Fusion Material to Summon Lunalight Liger Dancer, without Summoning the Leo Dancer to your field first.

The New Addition

The new Level 5 Lunalight Scarlet Tiger, which is exclusive to the Legendary ARC-V Decks, isn’t integral to the 1-card combo that puts two copies of Lunalight Liger Dancer on the field, but it improves the resilience of the “Lunalight” Deck. If you activate a “Lunalight” monster’s effect, you can Special Summon Lunalight Scarlet Tiger from your hand, and if your opponent activated a card or effect during the same turn, you can also add a Polymerization from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. If your opponent stops you from getting Polymerization with the effect of Lunalight Black Sheep by negating Black Sheep’s effect with a card like Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, you can have Lunalight Scarlet Tiger swoop onto the field and get you Polymerization instead. If you go second in a Duel, there’s a good chance that your opponent will set up one or more effects to use against you on your first turn. That means you’ll be able to rely on your Scarlet Tiger to get you Polymerization when you use its effect, allowing you to start Fusion Summoning and strike back against your opponent’s field.

Lunalight Scarlet Tiger also has an effect that activates if it’s sent to the Graveyard by card effect. This effect lets you Special Summon a “Lunalight” monster from your face-up Extra Deck or Graveyard, except a Level 5 monster, but it can’t activate its effects. This effect makes Lunalight Scarlet Tiger another ideal monster to use in a Fusion Summon and creates new possibilities for the plays that “Lunalight” Decks can make.

Modifying the Deck

The “Lunalight” Deck in the Legendary ARC-V Decks includes everything you need to start playing in tournaments. Nevertheless, there are some cards that aren’t included, that you may want to consider adding to the Deck. If you add Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir to your Extra Deck, you’ll be able to Xyz Summon it in Defense Position instead of Time Thief Redoer the end of the 1-card combo listed above. Bagooska changes all face-up monsters on the field into Defense Position and negates the activated effects of monsters that were in Defense Position when that effect was activated; but your Lunalight Liger Dancer is unaffected by card effects, including the effect of Bagooska. That means Bagooska’s effect will stop your opponent from using most of their monster effects, while your Lunalight Liger Dancers are free to finish your opponent off. Another powerful card to consider adding to the Deck is Pot of Sloth from Chaos Origins. Pot of Sloth is a Spell that draws cards equal to the number of cards your opponent controls. The “Lunalight” Deck has a bunch of cards that are strongest when going second. Pot of Sloth will help you draw those cards when you’re going second in a Duel.

The “Lunalight” cards in the Main Deck make it easy to Fusion Summon the Deck’s strongest monsters from the Extra Deck. Practice using their effects, and you’ll be crushing your opponents with Lunalight Liger Dancer and the Deck’s other Fusion Monsters in no time!
