Legendary ARC-V Decks – Odd-Eyes

Ladies and gentlemen! The “Odd-Eyes” Deck in the Legendary ARC-V Decks contains immense power! This Deck utilizes Summoning techniques available across all of the dimensions in Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V, plus Link Monsters to strengthen it even more. While Fusion Monsters, Xyz Monsters, Synchro Monsters, and Link Monsters are all available to the Deck’s user, Pendulum Monsters are at the heart of the “Odd-Eyes” Decks. The Deck has many Pendulum Monsters used by Yuya Sakaki from Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V. By setting the Pendulum Scales, you’ll be able to Pendulum Summon monsters from your hand and from face-up in your Extra Deck and then use those monsters to carve the arc of victory and defeat your opponent!

The Mechanics of Pendulum Summoning

Pendulum Monsters can be Summoned to the field like all other monsters or activated as a Spell Card in your leftmost or rightmost Spell/Trap Zone. If you activate one as a Spell Card, the zone it’s in becomes one of your Pendulum Zones. While it’s in the Pendulum Zone, it provides a Pendulum Scale, plus a Pendulum Effect that only applies while it’s in the Pendulum Zone.

As a quick reminder, you can perform a Pendulum Summon once per turn if you have cards in both of your Pendulum Zones. A Pendulum Summon lets you Special Summon any number of monsters from your hand or from your face-up Extra Deck cards with Levels that are between the numbers on your Pendulum Scales. Monsters Pendulum Summoned from the Extra Deck must go in the Extra Monster Zone, or Monster Zone a Link Monster points to. Also, if a Pendulum Monster would be sent from the field to the Graveyard, it goes face-up to your Extra Deck instead.

High and Low Scales

The key to a powerful Pendulum Summon is to have one card with a low Pendulum Scale and one card with a high Pendulum Scale in your Pendulum Zones. That’s why the “Odd-Eyes” Deck in the Legendary ARC-V Decks includes 12 cards with a Pendulum Scale of 8 or higher, and 11 cards with a Pendulum Scale of 2 or lower.

Odd-Eyes Revolution Dragon is at the highest end with a Pendulum Scale of 12, while cards like Performapal Odd-Eyes Seer are at the lowest end with a Pendulum Scale of 1. The Deck is filled with card effects that can help you get Pendulum Monsters from your Deck with the Pendulum Scales you need. These cards include Sky Iris, Performapal Monkeyboard, and Performapal Skullcrobat Joker.

Fusion Summoning with Performapal Odd-Eyes Dissolver

Even though the “Odd-Eyes” Deck in the Legendary ARC-V Decks doesn’t include Polymerization, it does contain a powerful “Odd-Eyes” Fusion Monster in the Extra Deck: Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon. Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon is a Level 7 Dragon can be Fusion Summoned by combining an “Odd-Eyes” monster with any Pendulum Monster. It has 2500 ATK, 3000 DEF, and lets you target an opponent’s Attack Position monster when it’s Special Summoned to return that monster to the hand. Plus, when a Spell/Trap Card or another monster’s effect is activated, its Quick Effect lets you shuffle a face-up Pendulum Monster from your Extra Deck into the Deck to negate the activation and destroy that card.

Performapal Odd-Eyes Dissolver is included in the Main Deck to help you Summon Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon. Its Pendulum Effect lets you Fusion Summon a Dragon from your Extra Deck once per turn, using monsters from your hand or field as Fusion Materials. Pendulum Monsters that you fuse together from your hand will go to the Graveyard instead of the Extra Deck. Fortunately, the Deck also contains cards like Performapal Odd-Eyes Seer that can retrieve those monsters or make use of them in the Graveyard.

Synchro Summoning with Performapal Odd-Eyes Synchron

In addition to a powerful “Odd-Eyes” Fusion Monster, the “Odd-Eyes” Deck also contains the powerful Synchro Monster, Odd-Eyes Solblaze Dragon! It’s a Level 8 Dragon-type Synchro Monster that you Synchro Summon using 1 Tuner and 1 or more non-Tuners. If it’s Special Summoned, you can Special Summon a face-up Pendulum Monster from your Extra Deck, but you can’t Special Summon, except Pendulum Monsters, while you control that face-up monster.

If Odd-Eyes Solblaze Dragon is in your Graveyard, you can banish 2 other monsters (Fusion/Synchro/Xyz/Pendulum) from your Graveyard to Special Summon your Solblaze Dragon back to the field. Performapal Odd-Eyes Synchron is a Level 2 Tuner that is included in the Main Deck to help you Summon Odd-Eyes Solblaze Dragon. Its Pendulum Effect can turn an “Odd-Eyes” or “Performapal” monster you control into a Level 1 Tuner for the turn, helping you assemble the combination of monster Levels that you need to Synchro Summon Odd-Eyes Solblaze Dragon.

The Might of Primite

You’ll also notice that the “Odd-Eyes” Deck contains a small engine of “Primite” cards consisting of 2 copies of Primite Roar, 2 copies of Primite Drillbeam, and 3 copies of Primite Lordly Lode. The Lordly Lode can add Roar or Drillbeam to your hand when it’s activated.

You’ll often want to prioritize getting Primite Roar when you’re looking to build a field, since you can use it to Special Summon Odd-Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon from your Deck. Odd-Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon is a Level 7 Dragon, which makes it useful for Xyz Summoning a Rank 7 monster like Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon.

Climb the Links

Even though Link Monsters didn’t exist during the ARC-V era, they’re an important part of the “Odd-Eyes” Deck. If you get 2 Pendulum Effect Monsters on your field, you can send them both to the Graveyard to Link Summon the Link-2 Beyond the Pendulum. By using its effect, you’ll be able to pay 1200 Life Points to add a Pendulum Monster from your Deck to your hand. Perform a Pendulum Summon after Link Summoning Beyond the Pendulum, and you’ll often be able to Special Summon back the two monsters used as Link Materials from face-up in your Extra Deck, linked to your Beyond the Pendulum. This immediately allows you to Link Summon the Link-3 Exceed the Pendulum, which will add a face-up Pendulum Monster from your Extra Deck to your hand. Exceed the Pendulum also has a Quick Effect that lets you Special Summon a Pendulum Monster from your hand or Graveyard in Defense Position, with a Level between the Pendulum Scales of the 2 cards in your Pendulum Zones. By using this effect to immediately Special Summon a monster, you’ll be able to Link Summon the Link-4 Accesscode Talker!

The “Odd-Eyes” Deck in the Legendary ARC-V Decks also contains a new Link-3 monster that is now available for the very first time! Odd-Eyes Override Dragon can be Link Summoned by using 2 or more monsters, including a Pendulum Monster, as Link Materials. It has 2500 ATK and a bunch of powerful effects. Its first effect lets you target another card you control and destroy it to draw 1 card. If you destroy a Pendulum Monster Card with this effect, you’ll gain an additional Pendulum Summon that you can use to Summon “Performapal” monsters, “Magician” Pendulum Monsters, and “Odd-Eyes” monsters. Its Quick Effect lets you discard a card when your opponent activates a card or effect during your turn, and it negates that effect.

If you don’t Pendulum Summon after using Beyond the Pendulum’s effect to add a Pendulum Monster from your Deck to your hand, you won’t be able to activate any monster effects for the rest of your turn, and the effects of the cards in your Pendulum Zone will be negated. This can lead you to needing to Pendulum Summon before you’re ready to, but thanks to Odd-Eyes Override Dragon, you can perform that Pendulum Summon, use one of the newly Summoned Pendulum Monsters with Beyond the Pendulum to Link Summon Odd-Eyes Override Dragon, then use Override Dragon’s effect on another Pendulum Monster Card to draw a card and give yourself another Pendulum Summon to use, this time with 3 linked Main Monster Zones to use.

The Plan for Going First

The “Odd-Eyes” Deck in the Legendary ARC-V Decks contains lots of powerful cards, and your gameplan for using them will often depend on whether you’re going first or second in a Duel. If you’re going first, you’ll usually prioritize Summoning Odd-Eyes Override Dragon quickly so that you can use it to protect the rest of your moves.

It’ll stop the effects of cards like Effect Veiler and Nibiru, the Primal Being that an opponent may use during your turn, so that you can make the rest of your moves unimpeded. You may also want to prioritize Summoning Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon, since it’s able to negate the activation of any Spell/Trap or monster effect that your opponent tries to use against you.

The Plan for Going Second

When you’re going second, aim to wipe out all of your opponent’s Life Points in one turn! Pendulum Summons allow you to quickly fill the field with monsters, while cards like Accesscode Talker and Beyond the Pendulum can quickly clear your opponent’s field. Your Extra Deck also contains Raider’s Knight and Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon, which can help you defeat an opponent with a single attack when your opponent has a field full of monsters!

Raider’s Knight is a Level 4 Xyz Monster that you can Summon by combining 2 Level 4 DARK monsters, and its effect will allow you to immediately Xyz Summon Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon by using it as an Xyz Material. Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon has 3000 ATK, can’t be destroyed by card effects, and has an incredible effect that you can activate by detaching an Xyz Material. It gains ATK equal to the total original ATK of all other monsters on the field, and then, if you have a DARK Xyz Monster like Raider’s Knight attached to it as Xyz Material, it negates the effects of all other face-up monsters on the field! After its effect resolves, you won’t be able to attack with any monsters other than Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon. The stronger the monsters on your opponent’s field are, the stronger Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon becomes after using its effect! That means you’ll often be able to wipe out your opponent with a single attack from Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon when your opponent controls a bunch of monsters!

Modifying the Deck

The “Odd-Eyes” Deck in the Legendary ARC-V Decks is pre-built and ready for you to bring to your local tournament. Nevertheless, there are cards that you can add to power-up the Deck if they fit your playstyle. One card that you can add is Terraforming, which is a Normal Spell that can add Sky Iris from your Deck to your hand. Sky Iris helps to get the “Odd-Eyes” Deck up and running, so adding a copy of Terraforming (which is currently a Limited card) to your Deck could boost your Deck’s consistency.

If you’re a fan of Pendulum Summoning, the “Odd-Eyes” Deck in the Legendary ARC-V Decks is for you. Brush up on the card effects and combos, and you’ll be ready to swing into action with it at your local tournament!
