Legendary ARC-V Decks – Speedroid

If you’re feeling the need for speed and you enjoy Synchro Summoning, the “Speedroid” Deck in the Legendary ARC-V Decks is for you! This Deck is built around Yugo’s signature “Speedroid” strategy and is adept at Synchro Summoning the “Clear Wing” Synchro Monsters.

Tuners and Non-Tuners

All Synchro Monsters in this Deck need at least 1 Tuner and at least 1 non-Tuner. Some of them also have specific requirements the Tuners and non-Tuners have to meet, so make sure to carefully check the needed materials for each. The “Speedroid” monsters in the Main Deck have a variety of different Levels and effects to help you pull off a wide range of Synchro Summons.

Summon Monsters, Get More Monsters

Synchro Summons always require two or more monsters, so it’s important to have monsters that can get you more monsters from your Deck. Speedroid Terrortop and Speedroid Marble Machine both do that, and 3 copies of each are included in the Deck. The Deck also includes 3 copies of the Speedroid Scratch Spell Card, which can help you add them to your hand.

Speedroid Terrortop is a Level 3 non-Tuner that you can Special Summon from your hand if you control no monsters. When it’s Normal or Special Summoned, it lets you add a “Speedroid” monster from your Deck to your hand, other than Speedroid Terrortop. Speedroid Marble Machine is a Level 2 non-Tuner Pendulum Monster that lets you add a “Speedroid” monster from your Deck to your hand when it’s Normal Summoned. It locks you out of Special Summoning monsters other than WIND monsters for the rest of the turn, but that’s not a problem for the Deck since the “Speedroid” and “Clear Wing” monsters are all WIND-Attribute.

If you start off with Speedroid Terrortop, you can Special Summon it and use its effect to add Speedroid Marble Machine from your Deck to your hand. Then, you can Normal Summon Marble Machine and use its effect to add Speedroid Taketomborg to your hand. Taketomborg opens up a wide variety of new possibilities.

Taketomborg Me to Victory

You can Special Summon Speedroid Taketomborg from your hand if you control a WIND monster, and its effect lets you Tribute it to Special Summon any “Speedroid” Tuner from your Deck. You can choose which Tuner to Special Summon based on the Level of the monster that you want to Synchro Summon. You can also choose to Special Summon Speedroid Red-Eyed Dice, which will open up the possibility of Summoning a variety of Synchro Monsters.

Red-Eyed Dice is a Level 1 Tuner, but its effect lets you change the Level of another Speedroid monster on your field to any Level from 1 through 6. This effect lets you fine-tune the Levels of your monsters so that you can Synchro Summon your monster of choice.

The Synchro Monsters

The Extra Deck is packed with monsters for you to Synchro Summon. It includes Synchro Monsters with Levels of 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12, giving you lots of Synchro Summoning options throughout the course of a Duel. The Synchro Monsters with lower Levels, like Hi-Speedroid Cork Shooter, Hi-Speedroid Hagoita, and Hi-Speedroid Glider #2, can help you Synchro Summon the monsters with higher Levels like Crystal Clear Wing Over Synchro Dragon and Hi-Speedroid Clear Wing Rider.

Hi-Speedroid Glider #2 is particularly strong for Summoning your highest-Level Synchro Monsters. Glider #2 is a Level 5 Synchro Tuner that lets you target and Special Summon a Level 7 or lower WIND non-Tuner Synchro Monster in your Graveyard and Special Summon it. Summon it toward the end of your turn, after you’ve already Summoned a Clear Wing Synchro Dragon and sent that Clear Wing Synchro Dragon to the Graveyard as a Synchro Material or Link Material. Then, use the effect of Hi-Speedroid Glider #2 to Special Summon a Clear Wing Synchro Dragon from your Graveyard, and you’ll instantly be able to Synchro Summon the Level 12 Crystal Clear Wing Over Synchro Dragon.

Crystal Clear Wing Over Synchro Dragon can negate the activation of any other card or effect and destroy it. If it destroys a monster with this effect, it also gains ATK equal to that monster’s original ATK until the end of the turn. Plus, if Crystal Clear Wing Over Synchro Dragon is leaves the field by an opponent’s card after it’s Synchro Summoned, you can Special Summon another “Clear Wing” monster from your Extra Deck, including Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon.

While Hi-Speedroid Glider #2 is in the Graveyard, you can also use it to disrupt your opponent’s plays. If your opponent Special Summons a monster while you control a “Clear Wing” monster, you can banish Glider #2 from your Graveyard to increase the Levels of all monsters your opponent controls by 5. This will interfere with any Synchro Summons or Xyz Summons that your opponent may be planning.

Synchro Summon From the Pendulum Zones?!

The inclusion of Speedroid Wing Synchron and Speedroid Marble Machine in the “Speedroid” Deck also opens up another powerful play that you can make. Speedroid Wing Synchron is a Level 5 Pendulum Monster and Tuner with a cool Pendulum Effect. Once per turn, you can destroy the Speedroid Wing Synchron and a Level 2 WIND Pendulum Monster Card in your Pendulum Zone to Special Summon a Clear Wing Synchro Dragon from your Extra Deck, and treat that Special Summon as a Synchro Summon.

Since Speedroid Marble Machine is a Level 2 WIND Pendulum Monster, it synergizes with Speedroid Wing Synchron. Just place Wing Synchron and Marble Machine in your Pendulum Zones and then use Wing Synchron’s effect to Special Summon Clear Wing Synchro Dragon without needing to Summon any monsters beforehand.

Knock Knock

One of the biggest strengths of a “Speedroid” Deck has always been its ability to Special Summon Tuners and non-Tuners to the field so that it can rapidly perform Synchro Summons. Speedroid Darumaknocker makes the Deck even better at it. Darumaknocker is a brand-new addition to the strategy, and there are 2 copies of it included in the Legendary ARC-V Decks.

Darumaknocker is a Level 4 Tuner that you can Special Summon from your hand by sending 1 “Speedroid” card from your Deck to the Graveyard. Speedroid CarTurbo, Speedroid Ultra Hound, Speedroid Clear Wing Wonder, and Speedroid Dupligate all have effects that you can activate from the Graveyard. Sending any one of them to the Graveyard to Summon Speedroid Darumaknocker will give you an extra effect to work with during the Duel. Speedroid Darumaknocker also has an effect that activates if it’s sent from the field to the Graveyard. That effect lets you can add a “Speedroid” Spell or Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. Then, if you control a “Clear Wing” monster, you can destroy a monster on the field. You can use this effect to get a variety of cards, including Speedroid Wheel and Speedroid Scratch, which can help you perform more Synchro Summons. Sending Darumaknocker to the Graveyard as a Synchro Material is an easy way to trigger its effect and add a “Speedroid” Spell or Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. But sometimes it’s even easier to trigger its effect by sending it to the Graveyard as a Link Material.

Watch It Go Flying!

Even though the “Speedroid” theme is mostly about Synchro Summoning, the “Speedroid” Deck in the Legendary ARC-V Decks includes two copies of a Link Monster: Hi-Speedroid Rubber Band Shooter. Rubber Band Shooter is a Link-2 monster that you can Summon by using 2 WIND monsters as Link Materials. It doesn’t matter what the Levels the monsters that you use as Link Materials are, and it doesn’t matter if they’re Tuners or non-Tuners. That makes it even easier for the Deck to Summon than a Synchro Monster.

During your Main Phase, you can use Hi-Speedroid Rubber Band Shooter’s effect to Normal Summon a WIND monster. You can’t Special Summon from the Extra Deck for the rest of the turn, except for Synchro Monsters, after using this effect. Fortunately, this drawback is usually inconsequential, since the rest of the monsters in the Extra Deck are Synchro Monsters.

Rubber Band Shooter’s other effect lets you banish a WIND Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck to reveal 2 “Speedroid” monsters with different names from your Deck whose total Levels equal the Level of that Synchro Monster. Your opponent randomly picks one for you to add to your hand, and the other one is sent to the Graveyard. Since the Levels of the “Speedroid” monsters in the Main Deck range from 1 through 5, and the Synchro Monsters in the Extra Deck have a large variety of Levels, there are numerous combinations of monsters that you can reveal with Rubber Band Shooter’s effect. When you don’t have the right combination of Tuners and non-Tuners, use Rubber Band Shooter’s effect to help out your hand, and modify your strategy based on the outcome of its effect.

Going First

The “Speedroid” Deck can be tough to use, because you’ll need to adjust your plays based on the cards you get. When you go first in a Duel, however, the goal is generally to Synchro Summon monsters with effects that can stop your opponent in their tracks on their turn.

The Level 12 Crystal Clear Wing Over Synchro Dragon is the strongest monster that you can Synchro Summon, because it can negate the activation of any card or effect and destroy it. It also has 3500 ATK, which makes it tough to take down in battle, and becomes even stronger if it negates the activation of a monster effect. If your opponent manages to get it off the field, you get to Special Summon Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, which can negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card, and has the power to make itself unaffected by the activated effects of your opponent’s monsters while increasing its ATK. This will present another obstacle for your opponent to get through.

The Level 7 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon and Clear Wing Fast Dragon are easier to Synchro Summon and can also hinder your opponent during their first turn. Once per turn, when another Level 5 or higher monster activates its effect on the field, you can use Clear Wing Synchro Dragon’s effect to negate the activation and destroy that monster. Once per turn, you can also activate Clear Wing Synchro Dragon’s effect when a monster effect is activated that targets a Level 5 or higher monster on the field, and you can negate the activation of that monster’s effect and destroy that monster. Clear Wing Synchro Dragon has 2500 ATK to start but increases its ATK by the ATK of every monster it destroys with its effect, until the end of the turn. Clear Wing Fast Dragon, on the other hand, has a Quick Effect that lets you target a face-up monster your opponent controls that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck and effectively neutralize it until the end of the turn! Clear Wing Fast Dragon will change its ATK to 0 and negate its effects! If you Synchro Summon the Level 11 Hi-Speedroid Clear Wing Rider, you can Tribute it during your opponent’s Main Phase to Special Summon both Clear Wing Synchro Dragon and Clear Wing Fast Dragon from your Extra Deck.

You can also Set the Speedroid Clear Wing Wonder and Speedroid Dupligate Trap Cards to further interfere with your opponent’s plays during his or her first turn. Speedroid Darumaknocker’s effect can help you get them.

Going Second

When you go second in a Duel, you’ll usually aim to destroy the field that an opponent built up. The Level 8 Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake lets you choose between two effects if it’s Synchro Summoned. You can destroy all other cards on the field or negate the effects of all face-up cards your opponent controls. Either one of these effects can be used to deal with just about anything your opponent puts on their field. Plus, if Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake is in your possession and sent to the Graveyard by an opponent’s card, you can add a “Speedroid” monster from your Deck to your hand.

With a lucky die roll, the Level 11 Hi-Speedroid Clear Wing Rider can also dismantle an opponent’s field. During your Main Phase, its effect lets you roll a six-sided die, then shuffle a number of WIND monsters from your Graveyard back into your Deck up to the result, then destroy cards your opponent controls up to the number shuffled back into your Deck. This effect can destroy up to 6 cards! Hi-Speedroid Clear Wing Rider has original ATK of 3500 and will gain 500 ATK until the end of the turn for each card it destroys with its effect. That means successfully using its effect could quickly knock your opponent out of the Duel.

Speedroid Darumaknocker is another useful card that can help break apart an opponent’s field when you go second. If you Synchro Summon a “Clear Wing” monster before using Darumaknocker’s effect to Special Summon it from your hand, you’ll get its additional effect of destroying a monster on the field. When you’re going second, try to avoid Special Summoning Darumaknocker from your hand until after you Synchro Summon a “Clear Wing” monster.

Modifying the Deck

The “Speedroid” Deck in the Legendary ARC-V Decks is ready to play right out of the box, but there are some cards that aren’t included that you can add to it if they fit your playstyle. Speedroid Colonel Clackers from the Supreme Darkness booster set, for example, is one card you might want to add to the Deck.

It’s a Level 2 WIND Pendulum Monster that has a Pendulum Effect that can quickly place Speedroid Wing Synchron from your Deck into your other Pendulum Zone, but you’ll need to banish a “Speedroid” card from your GY to do it. That’ll immediately allow you to use your Speedroid Wing Synchron’s effect to Special Summon Clear Wing Synchro Dragon.

The “Speedroid” Deck from the Legendary ARC-V Decks can quickly fill the field with Tuners and non-Tuners to Synchro Summon powerful “Clear Wing” and “Speedroid” monsters. Practice playing out various hands and combinations of cards on your own first to learn which combinations get you to which Synchro Monsters so that you’ll know what to do when it comes time to face live competition!
