Advanced Format Round 7 Feature Match: Christopher Mark vs. Bestoor Sedghi
Our Round 7 Feature Match features two Toronto Duelists. Not just any two – two friends who travelled together, and who know each others’ Decks inside and out! Christopher Mark is playing Elfnotes today, while Bestoor Sedghi is using Azamina Orcust. Unfortunately for these friends, only one can be victorious in this Match!
Duel 1
Sedghi won the dice roll and played first. He had a hand of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Diabellstar the Black Witch, Infinite Impermanence, and two copies of WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils.

In the Draw Phase, he activated WANTED to add another Diabellstar to his hand. He Special Summoned Diabellstar by sending his second WANTED to the Graveyard, and Diabellstar’s effect Set Deception of the Sinful Spoils. He activated Deception’s effect, Tributing his second Diabellstar, but Mark had Ash Blossom. Sedghi banished Diabellstar to Special Summon Dark Magician of Destruction, and added Magicians’ Souls to his hand. He used the effect of Magicians’ Souls, sending another Diabellstar to the Graveyard to Special Summon it. He sent Deception to the Graveyard to draw Dominus Spark. He used the Graveyard effect of WANTED, returning Deception to draw Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight! He Normal Summoned Girsu and used its effect to send Orcust Harp Horror to the Graveyard. He used Girsu to Link Summon Galatea-I, the Orcust Automaton, and used its effect by discarding Infinite Impermanence, to add Orcustrated Babel to his hand. He activated Babel, then used Galatea-I and Magicians’ Souls to Link Summon Galatea, the Orcust Automaton. He used Galatea-I’s effect, banishing Girsu, and responded with Galatea’s effect by returning the banished Girsu. These effects let him Set Orcust Crescendo and Special Summon Galtea-I. He banished Harp Horror to Special Summon Orcust Cymbal Skeleton, and used all his Orcust monsters to Link Summon Enlilgirsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight! He used Cymbal Skeleton’s effect to try to Special Summon Galatea, but Mark had Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion. Sedghi used Enlilgirsu’s effect to add his banished Cymbal Skeleton to his hand. He Set Dominus Spark to finish. Still in the Main Phase, Mark Special Summoned Elfnote Regina by sending Elfnote Lucina to the Graveyard. Sedghi negated Regina with Ash Blossom.
Mark Normal Summoned Elfnote Power Patron. Sedghi activated Enlilgirsu’s effect on his banished Harp Horror, threatening to take control of Mark’s monster. Mark Chained his Power Patron’s effect, and Sedghi flipped Dominus Spark – Mark conceded!

Duel 2
Sedghi opened this time with Infinite Impermanence, Ash Blossom, Dominus Spark, Ghost Belle, and Mulcharmy Purulia. He activated Purulia’s effect to start the Duel.
Mark Special Summoned Lucina, and Sedghi drew another Ash Blossom. Mark used Lucina’s effect, and Sedghi hit it with Infinite Impermanence. Mark played Elfnotes: Welcome Home, sending Lucina to the Graveyard, and Sedghi negated that with Ash Blossom. Mark played Triple Tactics Talent to draw two cards. He Set two cards in his back row.

Sedghi drew WANTED and activated it in the Draw Phase. He added Diabellstar to his hand, which he soon Special Summoned by sending Dominus Spark to the Graveyard. He used Diabellstar’s effect to Set Deception of the Sinful Spoils. He flipped up Deception, then banished Diabellstar to bring Dark Magician of Destruction to the field. His Magician added Magicians’ Souls to his hand. He activated Deception, Tributing Ghost Belle, but Mark had Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit to destroy it! He Special Summoned Magicians’ Souls by sending a Diabellstar to the Graveyard. He banished WANTED from the Graveyard to return Deception to the Deck and draw Foolish Burial. He played that to send Harp Horror to the Graveyard. Mark wasted no time flipping Called by the Grave to banish Harp Horror. Sedghi sent his Dark Magician of Destruction to attack directly. Then, he used it with his Magicians’ Souls to Link Summon S:P Little Knight. Little Knight banished Mark’s Welcome Home. In the End Phase, Mark flipped up Elfnotes: Rhapsodia of Madness, sending another Ghost Ogre to the Graveyard to Special Summon Lucina.
Mark drew, now with just one card in hand. Lucina attacked and destroyed Little Knight. In Main Phase 2, he used Lucina’s effect, and Sedghi used Ash Blossom to negate it. Mark revealed his last card: Welcome Home! He started to Special Summon Regina and more, and Sedghi had no cards on the field or in his hand – he conceded here.

Duel 3
Sedghi played first for the final Duel, with a hand of Triple Tactics Talent, Deception, Effect Veiler, Dominus Spark, and Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit.
In the Draw Phase, Mark activated the effect of Mulcharmy Purulia. Sedghi played Deception, Tributing Effect Veiler to add The Hallowed Azamina to his hand. He activated Hallowed, using Deception to Fusion Summon Azamina Mu Rcielago. That added WANTED to his hand, and he played it to add Diabellstar to his hand. He used WANTED’s Graveyard effect, returning Deception to draw Foolish Burial. He Special Summoned Diabellstar by sending Dominus Spark, and Mark drew with Purulia. Diabellstar’s effect Set Deception. He banished Diabellstar to bring Dark Magician of Destruction to the field, and added Magicians’ Souls to his hand. He used the Dark Magician of Destruction and Mu Rcielago to Link Summon Cross-Sheep. He used the effect of Hallowed in the Graveyard, and Mark used Ghost Belle. That allowed Sedghi to play Triple Tactics Talent and look at Mark’s hand!
Mark revealed Elfnote Tinia; Elfnote Lucina; Ghost Belle; and Nibiru, the Primal Being. Sedghi sent Nibiru back to the Deck. Sedghi played Foolish Burial next, sending Harp Horror to the Graveyard. He used its effect to Special Summon Girsu, which sent Cymbal Skeleton to the Graveyard. He used Girsu to Link Summon Galatea-I, and used its effect by discarding Magicians’ Souls to add Orcustrated Babel to his hand. He activated Babel, then used Cross-Sheep and Galatea-I to Link Summon Galatea. He banished Girsu to Special Summon Galatea-I from the Graveyard, then used Galatea to return the banished Girsu and Set Orcust Crescendo. He used Galatea to Xyz Summon Dingirsu, which attached Harp Horror. He used Dingirsu and Galatea-I to Link Summon another Galatea. He banished Cymbal Skeleton to Special Summon the first Galatea, using both copies of Galatea to Link Summon Enlilgirsu. It returned his banished Cymbal Skeleton to his hand. He flipped up Deception of the Sinful Spoils and passed the turn.
Mark Special Summoned Tinia, using its effect to place Welcome Home on the field. He Normal Summoned Effect Veiler, and Sedghi banished Harp Horror from his Graveyard for its effect. He Chained Enlilgirsu to return Harp Horror to his hand, then shuffled Cymbal Skeleton into the Deck to steal the Veiler. Harp Horror’s effect then let him Special Summon Girsu, which sent Cymbal Skeleton to the Graveyard. Mark tried activating Welcome Home, sending Tinia, and Sedghi used Ghost Ogre to destroy it. Mark Special Summoned Lucina, used its effect, and Sedghi flipped Orcust Crescendo. Mark offered the handshake!

Bestoor Sedghi is your victor, with Azamina Orcust!
