Julien Kehon achieved one of the greatest accomplishments known to the Dueling world. In 2025, he qualified twice for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship, and then went on to win the World Championship in Paris, France. Now, he’s in the Top 4 of YCS Montréal, looking to take home another championship trophy right before competing in the World Championship in Ariake, Japan in less than 2 weeks. But Michael Albanese is looking to put an end to Kehon’s run this weekend. He’s a TEAM YCS champion from 2025, and now he wants to take home his first trophy for a solo performance. Both Duelists are using Kewl Tune Decks. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Kehon opened up Duel 1 with  JJ “Kewl Tune”, PSY-Framegear Delta, Kewl Tune Clip, Synchro Overtake, and PSY-Framegear Gamma.

He activated Synchro Overtake by revealing Kewl Tune RS from his Extra Deck and Special Summoned Kewl Tune Reco from his Deck. He activated Reco’s effect, but lost out to Effect Veiler.  Next, Kehon activated JJ “Kewl Tune”. He activated the effect of JJ “Kewl Tune” and Tributed Reco to Special Summon Kewl Tune Mix from his Deck. He activated its effect to add Kewl Tune Cue from his Deck to his hand. He Normal Summoned it with the extra Normal Summon from JJ “Kewl Tune” and used its effect to Special Summon Kewl Tune Rotary from his Deck. He Tuned Rotary with Cue to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Track Maker and activated the effects of Cue, Rotary, and Track Maker. He looked at Albanese’s hand and added 2 copies of Kewl Tune Synchro from his Deck to his hand. He also excavated Kewl Tune Reco and Infinite Impermanence from the top of Albanese’s Deck, banished the Infinite Impermanence, and returned Reco to the top of Albanese’s Deck. Kehon Tuned Track Maker with the Delta in his hand to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Loudness War in Defense Position and then Set 2 copies of Kewl Tune Synchro to his back row.

Albanese activated Rotary’s effect in his hand by revealing it and Normal Summoned Reco with the effect. He activated Reco’s effect and Kehon Chained Kewl Tune Synchro. He added Kewl Tune Cue from his Deck to his hand and then Tuned it with Mix to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Remix. Albanese added Kewl Tune Mix to his hand with Reco’s effect and then Kehon activated the effects of Mix and Cue in a new Chain. Albanese Chained The Fallen & The Virtuous, sending Albion the Branded Dragon from his Extra Deck to the Graveyard to destroy Loudness War. Kehon used Mix’s effect to destroy Reco and used Cue’s effect to banish Cue from the top of Albanese’s Deck and leave Infinite Impermanence on top. Next, Kehon activated the effect of Remix by Tributing it. He Special Summoned Reco and added Rotary to his hand, then Tuned them together to Synchro Summon Track Maker. He activated the effects of Rotary and Track Maker. He looked at Albanese’s hand and added Kewl Tune Synchro from his Deck to his hand and he added Reco to his hand with the effect of Track Maker. Next, he used Kewl Tune Clip’s effect to Special Summon it and Tuned it with the Reco in his hand to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune RS. He used Clip’s effect to banish Kewl Tune Remix from Albanese’s Extra Deck. Albanese Normal Summoned Kewl Tune Mix. He used its effect to add Kewl Tune Cue from his Deck to his hand, prompting Kehon to activate Kewl Tune Synchro. Albanese conceded, realizing that he wouldn’t be able to defeat Kehon.

Duel Two

Albanese started off Duel 2 by activating Kewl Tune Synchro in the Draw Phase, but Kehon activated Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring’s effect to negate it.

Albanese activated another Kewl Tune Synchro next, resolving it to add Kewl Tune Rotary from his Deck to his hand. He activated Rotary’s effect by revealing Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit from his hand and Normal Summoned Rotary. He Tuned the Rotary with the Ghost Ogre in his hand to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Track Maker and then activated the effects of Track Maker and Rotary. He looked at Kehon’s hand and added JJ “Kewl Tune” to his hand with the effect of Rotary, and he added Kewl Tune Cue to his hand with the effect of Track Maker. He activated the JJ “Kewl Tune” and then Normal Summoned Cue. He used Cue’s effect to Special Summon Kewl Tune Reco from his Deck and then used Reco’s effect to add Kewl Tune Clip from his Deck to his hand. He used JJ’s effect to Tribute Reco and Special Summon Mix from his Deck and then used Mix’s effect to add Reco from his Graveyard to his hand. Next, he Tuned Cue with Track Maker to Synchro Summon Zalen the Shackled Dragon and activated Cue’s effect. He banished Kewl Tune Reco from the top of Kehon’s Deck and placed Effect Veiler on top. Next, Albanese Tuned the Mix on his field with the Reco in his hand to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Remix.

Kehon drew Effect Veiler and added it to his hand of JJ “Kewl Tune”, Kewl Tune Rotary, and Kewl Tune Mix. He activated the effect of Rotary in his hand by revealing Mix. Albanese Chained Remix’s effect by Tributing it, and when Kehon Chained Ghost Belle’s effect to try to negate it, Albanese Chained Zalen’s effect to negate the Ghost Belle’s effect. Remix’s effect resolved, and Albanese Special Summoned Reco from his Graveyard and added Ghost Ogre from his Graveyard to his hand. Kehon Normal Summoned Mix as Rotary’s effect resolved and activated Mix’s effect. Albanese Chained Reco’s effect, and then Chained Effect Veiler from his hand to negate Mix’s effect. Albanese added Kewl Tune Mix from his Deck to his hand with the effect of Reco. Kehon Normal Summoned Effect Veiler next and Albanese activated the effect of the Clip in his hand.  He Special Summoned Clip and Tuned it with the Mix in his hand, Synchro Summoning Track Maker. Kehon immediately conceded, realizing he was defeated.

The Match is going to a third and final Duel!

Duel Three

Kehon opened up Duel 3 with Infinite Impermanence, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Triple Tactics Talent, Effect Veiler, and Kewl Tune Rotary. Albanese activated the effect of Mulcharmy Purulia in the Standby Phase. In his Main Phase, Kehon activated Rotary’s effect in his hand by revealing a Ghost Ogre and Normal Summoned the Rotary, allowing Albanese to draw a card. Next, he Tuned the Rotary with the Ghost Ogre in his hand to Synchro Summon Track Maker. He activated the effects of Rotary and Track Maker as Chain Links 1 and 2 respectively. Albanese Chained the effect of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring from his hand to negate Track Maker’s effect, and then Kehon looked at the Kewl Tune Synchro, Kewl Tune Mix, Fydraulis Harmonia, and Duelist Genesis in Albanese’s hand with Rotary’s effect before adding JJ “Kewl Tune” from his Deck to his hand. He activated the JJ and then used its effect to Tribute Track Maker and Special Summon Mix from his Deck. He activated Mix’s effect and Albanese Chained the effect of the Harmonia in his hand. He revealed 5 Synchro Monsters from his Extra Deck along with the Harmonia in his hand. He Special Summoned the Harmonia, sent Wind Pegasus @Ignister from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard, and destroyed the Mix. Kehon resolved his Mix’s effect to add Kewl Tune Cue from his Deck to his hand. He Normal Summoned it, allowing Albanese to draw another card with Purulia’s effect. He activated Cue’s effect, and Albanese negated it by activating the effect of Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion in his hand. Kehon activated Triple Tactics Talent next, using its effect to draw Kewl Tune Synchro and Fydraulis Harmonia from his Deck. He activated the Kewl Tune Synchro to add Kewl Tune Mix from his Deck to his hand and Tuned it with the Cue on his field to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Remix. He activated Cue’s effect to excavate two copies of Rotary from the top of Albanese’s Deck. He banished one and returned the other to the top of Albanese’s Deck. He Set Infinite Impermanence to his back row before passing.

Albanese drew a card and then entered his Main Phase. He activated Duelist Genesis and added Synchro Overtake from his Deck to his hand. Kehon activated the effect of Remix by Tributing it. He Special Summoned Rotary to his field and added Cue to his hand, then Tuned them together to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Track Maker. He activated the effects of Track Maker, Rotary, and Cue as Chain Links 1, 2, and 3 respectively. He excavated Purulia and Cue from the top of Albanese’s Deck with Cue’s effect, leaving the Purulia on top and banishing the Cue. He then looked at Albanese’s hand and added Kewl Tune Synchro from his Deck to his hand with Rotary’s effect, and added Clip to his hand with Track Maker’s effect. Albanese activated Synchro Overtake next. He revealed Kewl Tune RS from his Extra Deck to Special Summon Reco from his Deck. He activated Reco’s effect and Kehon Chained the effect of the Clip in his hand. Albanese Chained Kewl Tune Synchro, and Kehon flipped Infinite Impermanence in the center column, targeting Reco to negate Reco’s effect. Albanese used Kewl Tune Synchro’s effect to add Kewl Tune Cue from his Deck to his hand and then Tuned the Reco on his field with the Rotary in his hand to Synchro Summon Track Maker in Defense Position. Kehon Special Summoned the Clip and Tuned it with Track Maker to Summon Kewl Tune Loudness War. In a new Chain, Albanese activated the effects of Track Maker, Rotary, and Reco targeting JJ. Kehon Chained Track Maker’s effect and Clip’s effect. Kehon banished Kewl Tune Crackle from Albanese’s Extra Deck and returned Track Maker to Albanese’s Extra Deck. Albanese resolved Reco’s effect to destroy JJ, then resolved Rotary’s effect to look at Kehon’s hand and add Kewl Tune Synchro from his Deck to his hand. He added JJ “Kewl Tune” from his Deck to his hand with Track Maker’s effect. Next, Albanese activated JJ “Kewl Tune”. He used its effect to get an extra Normal Summon for Kewl Tune Cue and then activated Cue’s effect. He Special Summoned Mix from his Deck and activated Mix’s effect. Kehon Chained the effect of Harmonia. He revealed the Harmonia along with 5 Synchro Monsters in his Extra Deck. He Special Summoned the Harmonia, sent Wind Pegasus @Ignister from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard, and destroyed Albanese’s Cue. Albanese resolved Mix’s effect to add Cue from his Graveyard to his hand and then Albanese activated the effect of his Wind Pegasus in the Graveyard by banishing it. He tried to return Loudness War to Kehon’s Extra Deck, and Kehon Chained Loudness War’s effect by banishing Rotary from his Graveyard to look at Albanese’s hand and add Kewl Tune Synchro from his Deck to his hand. Wind Pegasus’s effect returned Loudness War to the Extra Deck afterward, and then Albanese continued his turn. He activated Kewl Tune Synchro, but placed it in the same column that Infinite Impermanence had been activated in earlier in the Duel! The Kewl Tune Synchro was negated! Next, Albanese Tuned the Mix on his field with the Mix in his hand to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Track Maker and Tuned it with the Cue in his hand to Synchro Summon Zalen the Shackled Dragon. He used Track Maker’s effect to return Harmonia to Kehon’s hand and then Tuned Zalen with Reco to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune B2B. He attacked directly for 6400 points of damage and ended his turn.

Kehon drew Infinite Impermanence and activated it to negate the effect of B2B. Knowing the cards in Kehon’s hand, Albanese conceded, lamenting the costly error of activating Kewl Tune Synchro in the same column as a previously activated Infinite Impermanence.
