It all comes down to this! Khari Goosby fought all the way here with his Toy White Forest Deck, and he’s facing down Anil Gangapersaud with his Blitzcliques. Only one can walk away with the Ultra Rare of the brand-new Prize Card, Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, the trophy, and the title of YCS Montréal Genesys Champion!

Duel 1

Gangapersaud won the dice roll and played first. Goosby had a hand of Tales of the White Forest, Silvy of the White Forest, Rucia of the White Forest, and two copies of Forbidden Chalice.

Gangapersaud started with Foolish Burial Goods, sending Blitzclique Alternator to the Graveyard. He banished it to add Hideout in the Sky, Coulomb to his hand. He Normal Summoned Surge Blitzclique, then activated Coulomb. He used its effect to give Goosby a Mech Beast Token and add Grain Blitzclique to his hand. He Special Summoned Grain by destroying Coulomb. That let him use Surge’s effect to add Emi Blitzclique to his hand. He Special Summoned Emi and destroyed the Token. He returned his Coulomb to his hand, and Grain added Blitzclique – Breakaway. He played Breakaway to place Blitzclique Alternator on the field. He activated Coulomb, then Special Summoned Whisker Blitzclique and destroyed Grain. He returned Breakaway from the Graveyard, and Emi’s effect put Blitzclique Return Stroke in his hand. He Set two cards in his back row.

Goosby drew Toy Box and activated it first. Gangapersaud Chained Breakaway, returning Emi to destroy Toy Box. He tried using Surge’s effect, and Goosby negated it with Forbidden Chalice. He used his second Chalice on Whisker, then Normal Summoned Silvy and activated its effect. Gangapersaud Chained Crackle Blitzclique, Special Summoning it and destroying Silvy. Silvy’s effect put Sinful Spoils of the White Forest in his hand, and Gangapersaud returned Breakaway from his Graveyard. Goosby played Sinful Spoils of the White Forest, and Gangapersaud flipped Return Stroke. Goosby was ready to move on to the next Duel!

Duel 2

Goosby started this time with Elzette of the White Forest, Tales of the White Forest, Toy Box, Diabellze the White Witch, and Sinful Spoils of Slumber – Morrian.

He played Toy Box, which Set Toy Soldier and Toy Tank on the field. He sent Toy Soldier to the Graveyard to Special Summon Elzette, adding Silvy to his hand. He Special Summoned Toy Soldier, which added Rucia of the White Forest to his hand. He Normal Summoned Silvy, adding Woes of the White Forest to his hand. He used Elzette and Silvy to Synchro Summon Rciela, Sinister Soul of the White Forest. He used its effect, sending Tales to the Graveyard to add Scourge of the White Forest to his hand. He Set Tales from the Graveyard. He activated Tales to add Elzette, Azamina of the White Forest to his hand. He Special Summoned Elzette Azamina, then used it and Rciela to Synchro Summon Diabell, Queen of the White Forest. Diabell returned Tales to his hand, and Elzette Azamina added Sinful Spoils of the White Forest to his hand. He Special Summoned Rucia, sending Toy Tank to the Graveyard to draw Forbidden Chalice. He Special Summoned Toy Tank, then used Rucia and Toy Soldier to Synchro Summon Visas Amritara. That let him add Mannadium Reframing. He used Toy Tank to Special Summon Elzette, and used that and Amritara for Fabled Levilazebul. He Special Summoned Diabellze by sending Scourge to the Graveyard. He Set the Scourge, and DIabellze sent Curse of Diabell to the Graveyard. Curse’s effect added Filia Diabell to his hand, and he used that to add Diabellstar Vengeance to his hand. He banished Curse and Filia to Special Summon Diabellstar Vengeance, and Filia powered up his monsters. He Set Woes, Sinful Spoils of Slumber, and Reframing.

Gangapersaud Normal Summoned Surge. He used Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Scourge, then played Coulomb. He tried using the effect, and Goosby responded with Diabellstar Vengeance to destroy it. He then Chained Sinful Spoils of Slumber to flip Surge Blitzclique  face-down, and Gangapersaud conceded!

Duel 3

Goosby started the all-important final Duel with Evenly Matched, Elzette, Silvy, and two copies of Astellar of the White Forest.

Gangapersaud led with Pot of Extravagance, banishing six cards to draw two cards. He played Breakaway to place Alternator on the field. He used that to return Emi to his Deck and add Grain. He used Grain’s effect to Special Summon it and destroy Alternator. That let him return Breakaway to his hand, and he banished Alternator to add Coulomb. He played it and gave Goosby a Mech Beast Token, adding Surge to his hand. He Special Summoned Surge, destroying the Token. That let him use Grain to add Blitzclique – Steppleader to his hand. He played that, and used its effect to Special Summon Whisker and destroy the Steppleader. Surge’s effect added Emi to his hand. He Special Summoned Emi, destroying Coulomb. That let him return Steppleader from the Graveyard. He Set three back row cards and activated Steppleader.

Goosby drew Forbidden Chalice. He moved to the Battle Phase and activated Evenly Matched! Gangapersaud Chained Breakaway, returning Whisker to destroy Surge. Then he Chained Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Breakaway. Breakaway and Surge ended up in the Graveyard, and Gangapersaud had to banish everything except Steppleader. In a new Chain, Gangapersaud used Steppleader’s effect to add Surge to his hand. In Main Phase 2, Goosby Normal Summoned Silvy. He used its effect, and Gangapersaud Chained Crackle Blitzclique to Special Summon and destroy it. Goosby added Tales to his hand, and Gangapersaud added Coulomb and Breakaway to his hand. Goosby Special Summoned Elzette, sending Tales to the Graveyard, and added Diabellze to his hand. He Set Tales from his Graveyard, then flipped it to add Rucia to his hand. He Special Summoned Rucia, and Gangapersaud activated Whisker’s effect. He Special Summoned Whisker and Surge, destroying Goosby’s monsters. Crackle’s effect sent Alternator to the Graveyard, and Surge added a new Whisker to his hand. Goosby Special Summoned Diabellze by sending Chalice to the Graveyard. Gangapersaud Chained Whisker, returning Crackle to negate and destroy Diabellze. Goosby had no followup, and passed the turn.

Gangapersaud played Coulomb, using the effect to give a Mech Beast Token and add Grain to his hand. He Special Summoned Surge and destroyed the Token. He sent everything to attack, strengthened by Coulomb. Goosby dropped to 200 Life Points, and Gangapersaud Special Summoned his second Whisker to attack and end it all!
