In addition to incredible reprints, Battles of Legend: Relentless Revenge contains powerful new cards like Topologic Gumblar Dragon! Topologic Gumblar Dragon is a Link-4 monster with 3000 ATK and two incredible effects.

First, if another monster is Special Summoned to a zone that any Link Monster points to while Topologic Gumblar Dragon is on the field, you discard 1 or 2 random cards, and then your opponent discards the same number.

Second, during your Main Phase, if Topologic Gumblar Dragon is Extra Linked and your opponent has at least one card in his or her hand, you can make your opponent discard 1 or 2 cards. Then, if your opponent has no cards in his or her hand, your opponent takes 3000 points of damage.

You can only use one Topologic Gumblar Dragon effect per turn, and only once per turn. That means you can’t knock more than 2 cards out of an opponent’s hand each turn with Topologic Gumblar Dragon. But since Topologic Gumblar Dragon’s effect can activate to knock cards out of an opponent’s hand during either player’s turn, you can use its effect to force an opponent to discard as many as 4 cards after you Summon Topologic Gumblar Dragon and before your next turn comes around.

Monsters that can easily be Special Summoned to your field during an opponent’s turn, including Sheep Tokens (via Scapegoat) and Linkuriboh (through its Quick Effect) will help you activate Topologic Gumblar Dragon’s effect during your opponent’s turn. Also, If your opponent isn’t careful and links monsters together while your Gumblar Dragon is on the field, Topologic Gumblar Dragon’s effect will activate to discard 1 or 2 cards from each hand.

Topologic Gumblar Dragon’s Link Materials are just 2 or more Effect Monsters, making it easy to Summon in lots of different Decks. Cards that can be used to Special Summon monsters, including Firewall Dragon; Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones; Gouki Re-Match; Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights and more will help you Summon Topologic Gumblar Dragon early so that you can start discarding cards from your opponent’s hand right away.

Some Decks, including the tournament-popular Gouki Deck, are capable of Summoning Link-4 monsters as early as the first turn of the Duel, and even Extra Linking on the very first turn! By using Topologic Gumblar Dragon, you can gain an early advantage by discarding cards from your opponent’s hand before your opponent has an opportunity to use them. The possibility of dealing 3000 points of damage to your opponent while Gumblar Dragon is Extra Linked is just an added bonus.

Summoning a powerful monster with 3000 ATK and then using its effect to discard cards from an opponent’s hand can devastate an opponent. You can do that by including Topologic Gumblar Dragon in your Extra Deck!
