Huynh is using a Dragon Deck, which Summons big monsters like Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and Lightpulsar Dragon. Spencer is using a LIGHT Deck that Summons equally big Lightrays. Alexander Reed is a Dallas local who went 10-1 in the Swiss Rounds and has made it to the Finals! Now, he’s taking his Dragonsworn Deck against former YCS-Championship winner Nizar Sarhan’s Dino Rabbit Deck! Sarhan won YCS Dallas in 2011 by using a Six Samurai Deck, and now he’s defending his title.

Alexander Reed is from Dallas, Texas and came to this tournament with a couple of friends. All of them are using the same Dragon Lightsworn Deck and currently have 8-2 records or better. Reed is currently 9-1, and is Dueling against Tulsa, Oklahoma’s Benito Garcia in Round 11. Garcia is using a Gemini HERO Deck. Both Duelists have a great shot at making it into the Top 32, but the winner here will be guaranteed a spot.

Das Anuraag and Steven Arias both currently have 6-1-1 records in the tournament, and both of them are using interesting Decks that aren’t widespread in the current field of competitors. Das Anuraag is using a Rescue HERO Deck that can Special Summon Elemental HERO Sparkman from his Deck with Rescue Rabbit in order to make Blade Armor Ninja. Steven Arias is using the newest Dragons from the Dragons Collide Structure Deck, Lightpulsar Dragon and Darkflare Dragon, in a Deck that fills the Graveyard through the effects of Lightsworn monsters in order to make it easier to Summon those Dragons. One of these Duelists will advance to Day 2 with an impressive 7-1-1 record.

Amanda LaPalme and Christopher Burrows are both 7-2 in the tournament, with the hope of a Top 32 finish riding on the outcome of this Match. LaPalme is back with her signature Dragon Deck, and Burrows is using a Dimensional Tengu Deck that takes advantage of effects that work when his monsters are removed from the Duel. If Burrows manages to keep his Dimensional Fissure on the field, this will be a difficult Match for LaPalme, who relies on Special Summoning Dragons from her Graveyard.

We’re seeing a lot of Duelists running Dragons here, today, including Atlanta’s Zackery Biscardi. Long-time Duel fans may remember Biscardi from his performance with Gravekeepers, when Gravekeepers exploded at YCS Atlanta. His opponent this round is Palm Bay’s Samuel Cooper, piloting an Anti-Monster strategy. This could be an interesting Match, as Biscardi tries to break through with a flurry of Special Summons, and Cooper tries to keep him from doing it with cards like Thunder King Rai-Oh and Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo. Biscardi would have his work cut out for him.

11-year-old Tony Houston is currently 5-0 in the Dragon Duels and is the only undefeated Duelist left in the tournament. He made it here with his Gravekeeper’s Deck, and this is his first YCS ever. He’s looking to turn his first YCS experience into a Dragon Duel victory. But his opponent, 12-year-old Grayson Scott, won’t make that easy for him. Scott is using a Dragon Deck that rushes big Dragons onto the field to overwhelm opponents. Both of these Duelists have some experience at the Regional level, but since this is the first YCS for both of them, they’re really looking to make this Match count!
