Yesterday, Steven Santoli and Paul Aronson secured their invitations to compete at the 2023 Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship in Tokyo, Japan by making it to the top of the World Qualifying Points Playoff. Today, the rest of North America will begin competing for the last four invitations.
2971 Duelists (before accounting for late entries) have gathered to compete, and they all brought their best Dueling skills. Competition will be fierce, as the chance to represent one’s continent at the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship only comes around once per year. Four more Duelists this weekend will soon realize their dreams of being able to compete in the World Championship and will earn paid travel and accommodations to attend. It’s time to Duel!
Last weekend, Europe chose their Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship representatives at the 2023 European World Championship Qualifier in Utrecht, Netherlands. Now, it’s North America’s turn to select its competitors!

In December of 2004, over 300 Duelists gathered at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The reason? To take part in a landmark event: the very first tournament in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series.
Almost three years ago to the day, Las Vegas hosted the last TEAM YCS. In the end, the team of Dominic Couch, Stephen Silverman, and Scott Page emerged victorious as YCS Champions! It’s been a long wait to return to the city that never sleeps – it’s time to crown some new YCS Champions!
We’re hot off the heels of another TEAM YCS last weekend in Mexico City, but make no mistake – this event is going to stand out. TEAM YCS Mexico City was the first event to use cards from Photon Hypernova, and Duelists will have another week of experience with the new cards.
Even bigger is the Forbidden & Limited List just taking effect this week, which had massive changes that will surely shake up the meta. Tearlaments, Sprights, and Floowandereeze all saw changes from the F&L List, but they’re still Decks to watch out for. Besides those, there’s a lot of hype around Kashtira, Labrynth, Branded, Runick, Dark World, and more.
Round 1 is about to kick off, with 385 teams! It’s time to Duel!
