Paulie Aronson, having just recently won the 250th YCS in Los Angeles, has the World Championship in his sights now. He’s facing off against Justin Singh, another seasoned competitor with multiple Top Cut finishes to his name, who is just as eager to etch his name in Dueling history. Aronson is using Kashtira, his tried-and-true Deck, while Singh is putting his faith in Floowandereeze. Both of these Duelists are at the top of their game and are ready to go.
Congratulations to Michel Verissimo from Brazil for securing a spot at the 2019 Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship with his Orcust – Trickstar – Sky Striker Deck!
It all comes down to this! Galileo De Obaldia Soza from Panama will be facing off against Jose Carlos Carrillo Toscano from Mexico for a spot to represent Central America in this year’s World Championship. We have featured both Duelists already, watching them each claim victory. Who will come out on top and earn their trip to the World Championship in Berlin, Germany this August?
The World Qualifying Points Playoff is filled with star studded Duelists, but Galileleo Mauricio De Obaldia Soza has done what most could not even fathom. With four World Championship appearances, placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and in the Top 8, it makes sense why we see him in the Points Playoff today. He is representing Panama and has chosen Sky Striker as his weapon of choice. His opponent, Nelson Omar Andino Ochoa, is no slouch either. He is representing Honduras and has brought Danger! Orcust.
The World Qualifying Points Playoff is a brand-new aspect to this year’s WCQs, where players can earn WCQ points across the Dueling season for a chance to compete for an invite to the World Championship! This is a very prestigious event, where only the top performing players from each region can compete prior to the WCQ. After months of dedication, these 8 Duelists have each earned a Super Rare copy of Chaos Emperor, the Dragon of Armageddon and are competing for a single slot in a single elimination bracket. They will also receive VIP status for tomorrow’s main event!
For 2017, the World Qualifying Points ranking system now gives Duelists an opportunity to attend the World Championship, even if they don’t make the Top Cut of the World Championship Qualifier (WCQ). These points reward Duelists who are active and consistent in tournaments. The two top ranked United States Duelists and the top Canadian Duelist, after this tournament, will be able to attend the World Championship. Here are the top contenders!
Alejandro Garcia Moreno from Mexico City lost in the Top 64 of this weekend’s Central American World Championship Qualifier. Nevertheless, he will be invited to represent his country in the 2017 Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship in Japan. How did he do it? Read on to find out!
