We’ve brought back Wisconsin Duelist Lee H. and his Kewl Tune Deck. He wasn’t able to claim victory in his Feature Match yesterday, but he’s determined to reach the Top 8. His opponent is Silas S., from Kansas City, MO, playing D/D/D! Both Duelists have a chance to make the Top 8, but will need a win here to ensure they stay in the running.

Duel 1

Silas won the dice roll and played first, with a hand of Called by the Grave, Super Polymerization, D/D Savant Kepler, and two copies of The Fallen & The Virtuous.

In Silas’s Draw Phase, Lee used Mulcharmy Fuwalos. Silas tried to negate it with Called by the Grave, and Lee used Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion! Silas continued by Normal Summoning Kepler, which let him add Dark Contract with the Gate to his hand. He played his Dark Contract, but it was destroyed by Lee’s Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit! Silas Set The Fallen & The Virtuous and Super Polymerization.

Lee H. is back for more

Lee Normal Summoned Kewl Tune Mix, which let him add Kewl Tune Cue to his hand. Lee played Kewl Tune Synchro, adding Kewl Tune Rotary to his hand. He used Rotary’s effect to Normal Summon Cue, which brought Kewl Tune Reco to the field. Reco put Kewl Tune Clip in Lee’s hand. He used Reco and Mix to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune RS. Reco and Mix targeted The Fallen & The Virtuous and Kepler with their effects. Silas flipped The Fallen, sending Albion the Branded Dragon to the Graveyard. Lee tried negating it with RS, and Silas flipped Super Polymerization! He fused Lee’s Kewl Tune RS and his own Kepler into a Defense Position Garura, Wings of Resonant Life. Lee used Cue with the Rotary in his hand to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune Track Maker. Rotary’s effect put Albion back in Silas’s Extra Deck. Track Maker put a new Kewl Tune Synchro in Lee’s hand. Finally, Cue revealed Forbidden Droplet and Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring from the top of Silas’s Deck. Lee left the Droplet on top and banished Ash Blossom. He Set one card in his back row to finish.

Silas drew the Forbidden Droplet. He played it, sending Garura to the Graveyard, and Lee responded with Kewl Tune Synchro. He added Reco to his hand, then used Reco and Track Maker to Synchro Summon Zalen the Shackled Dragon. Droplet resolved and negated Zalen, and Garura let him draw Kepler! He Normal Summoned Kepler and added Dark Contract with the Gate to his hand. He played it and used its effect to add D/D/D Zero Doom Queen Machinex. He played it in his Pendulum Zone, and used its effect to place Dark Contract with the Zero King on the field. He Special Summoned Harmonia, sent Enigmaster Packbit to the Graveyard, and destroyed Copernicus. Copernicus’s effect sent D/D Lance Soldier to the Graveyard. In a new Chain, Packbit sent Kepler to the back row, blocking a Pendulum Zone.

Silas S., the D/D Destroyer

Silas Special Summoned Lance Soldier by destroying Dark Contract with the Gate, then Special Summoned his Doom Queen Machinex and destroyed the Kepler that was taking up space. He Link Summoned D/D/D Abyss King Gilgamesh, using its effect to put a new Doom Queen Machinex and D/D Scale Surveyor from his Deck into the Pendulum Zones. He Pendulum Summoned Doom Queen Machinex and Copernicus from his Extra Deck. Then, he used Copernicus and Gilgamesh to Link Summon D/D/D Sky King Zeus Ragnarok. He used Zeus to destroy Machinex, enabling an additional Pendulum Summon! He brought Machinex, Copernicus, and Kepler to the field once more. He used Zeus Ragnarok to Xyz Summon D/D/D Deviser King Deus Machinex. He attacked with Doom Queen Machinex to destroy Fydraulis Harmonia. Deus Machinex then destroyed Zalen.

Lee simply Set a monster.

Silas drew Super Polymerization, and took 1000 damage from his Dark Contract. He used Zero King to destroy his Surveyor and Special Summon another Doom Queen Machinex. He Pendulum Summoned Kepler, and used its effect to add Dark Contract with the Gate to his hand. He used Super Polymerization to fuse his two copies of Kepler into D/D/D Flame King Genghis. Lee’s Set monster was just an Ash Blossom – no help against the D/D army!

Duel 2

Silas started the next Duel with Copernicus, Dark Contract with the Gate, Mulcharmy Fuwalos, Lava Golem, and Ash Blossom. Silas tried to use Fuwalos at the start of Lee’s turn, and Lee negated it with Ash Blossom. Lee Normal Summoned Cue, and Silas used his own Ash Blossom. Lee used Cue with an Effect Veiler to Synchro Summon Track Maker. Cue revealed Doom Queen Machinex and Dominus Impulse from Silas’s Deck – Queen was banished, and Impulse went to the bottom of the Deck. Then, Track Maker put JJ “Kewl Tune” in his hand. He activated JJ, Tributing Track Maker to add and Normal Summon Kewl Tune Reco, adding Mix to his hand. He Synchro Summoned Kewl Tune Remix and Set one card in his back row.

Silas Normal Summoned Copernicus, sending Lance Soldier to the Graveyard. He Special Summoned his Surveyor, and Lee responded with Remix to Special Summon Reco and add Mix to his hand. Reco added Kewl Tune Clip to his hand. Silas continued by Link Summoning Gilgamesh. He used its effect, and Lee responded with Clip. He Special Summoned Clip, then used Remix and Mix to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune RS. Gilgamesh’s effect put Doom Queen Machinex and D/D/D Oblivion King Abyss Ragnarok in his Pendulum Zones. In a new Chain, Reco and Mix destroyed Gilgamesh and Doom Queen Machinex. Gilgamesh’s effect brought D/D/D Flame King Genghis to the field. Silas tried using Oblivion King Abyss Ragnarok’s effect to Special Summon Gilgamesh, but Lee had Bystial Magnamhut to banish the target! Silas conceded with no way to follow up!

Duel 3

Silas’s opening hand for the final Duel was Dark Contract with the Eternal Darkness, Anti-Spell Fragrance, Super Polymerization, Dominus Impulse, and Dark Contract with the Zero King. In the Draw Phase, Lee had Fuwalos. Silas Set Anti-Spell Fragrance and Super Polymerization.

Lee used Rotary, revealing Cue to Normal Summon the Cue. He used Cue’s effect, and Silas negated it with Dominus Impulse. Lee used Cue and Rotary to Synchro Summon Track Maker. Rotary’s effect revealed Silas’s hand, and Rotary and Track Maker added JJ “Kewl Tune” and Kewl Tune Synchro to Lee’s hand. He Normal Summoned Kewl Tune Mix, adding Reco to his hand. He used Mix and Reco to Synchro Summon Kewl Tune RS. Reco’s effect destroyed Anti-Spell Fragrance! Lee played JJ, then Kewl Tune Synchro to add a new Reco to his hand. He used his third Normal Summon to play Reco, which added a Mix to his hand. He used Reco and Mix for a second RS. He used JJ to Tribute Track Maker and Special Summon Cue. He moved to the Battle Phase and attacked with one RS, boosted to 3800 ATK. Silas wanted to use Super Polymerization, but had no monster like Sea Monster of Theseus that could be summoned using Lee’s monsters. Lee attacked with his second RS, and Cue finished the Match!
