Only four Dragon Duelists remain! We’ve got Gregory L.’s Branded Deck against Emmett P.’s Light and Darkness Ritual Deck. Both Dragon Duelists have worked hard to get this far, but only one can move on to the finals. It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Emmett won the dice roll and took the first turn. Gregory’s opening hand was Super Polymerization, Branded Opening, Branded in High Spirits, Mulcharmy Fuwalos, and Branded Fusion.

Emmett started with Fallen of the White Dragon, sending Albion the Branded Dragon to the Graveyard. He activated its effect, and Gregory used Fuwalos to draw Bystial Magnamhut when Emmett Special Summoned Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous. Emmett used Black Chaos to place Mind Shuffle on the field, using its effect to add Skull Archfiend of Chaos to his hand and discard it. Skull Archfiend’s effect sent Light and Darkness Ritual to the Graveyard to put Black Luster Soldier – Soldier of Light and Darkness in his hand. He activated Light and Darkness Ritual ’s effect in the Graveyard, and Gregory used Bystial Magnamhut’s effect to banish Black Chaos. Light and Darkness Ritual and Skull Archfiend went to Emmett’s hand, and Magnamhut hit the field. Emmett played Light and Darkness Ritual, Tributing Magician of Dark Chaos – Black Chaos to Ritual Summon a second copy of the Magician. He then used Skull Archfiend’s effect in the hand, returning his Graveyard cards to the Deck. He tuned Fallen of the White Dragon to Skull Archfiend for The Three Champions of Swordsoul, and Gregory drew Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous via Fuwalos. The effect of The Three Champions added Phara the Primordial Goddess to his hand. Three Champions destroyed Magnamhut with its effect. He Set one back row card, and Albion’s effect Set The Fallen & The Virtuous on Emmett’s field. Gregory’s Magnamhut effect let him add his own Fallen of the White Dragon to his hand.

Gregory drew Tri-Brigade Springans Kitt. He sent Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon to the Graveyard to Special Summon Fallen of the White Dragon. When it hit the field, its other effect brought Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous from the Deck to the field. Gregory used Incredible Ecclesia’s effect to Special Summon a monster, and Emmett responded with Mind Shuffle to add Black Chaos to his hand and discard Phara. Ecclesia brought a second Fallen of the White Dragon to the field. In a new Chain, Phara was Special Summoned and let Emmett take control of one of Gregory’s Fallen of the White Dragon. Gregory activated Branded in High Spirits, revealing Kitt and sending The Dragon that Devours the Dogma to the Graveyard and added Albion the Shrouded Dragon to his hand. He then used Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon’s effect in the Graveyard to return Mind Shuffle to the Deck. Emmett simply flipped up a second copy! Gregory used Albion the Shrouded Dragon’s effect, sending Branded Retribution to the Graveyard, then putting Albion on the bottom of the Deck to draw a Fuwalos. He discarded Fuwalos to activate Super Polymerization, fusing The Three Champions, Phara, and Fallen of the White Dragon that had its control changed, into The Dragon that Devours the Dogma. Its effect activated, and Emmet flipped The Fallen & The Virtuous to Special Summon his Fallen of the White Dragon in the Graveyard. He Special Summoned it, and Gregory’s The Dragon that Devours the Dogma returned his own Super Polymerization and Fallen of the White Dragon from the Graveyard to the Deck.

Emmett’s new Fallen of the White Dragon let him Special Summon Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous. Gregory used Retribution’s effect to put High Spirits in his hand. Then, he played Branded Opening. Emmett Chained the effect of Incredible Ecclesia to Special Summon Fallen of Albaz. Opening resolved, adding Aluber the Jester of Despia to Gregory’s hand. Unfortunately, Emmett had no valid monster to Fusion Summon with Fallen of Albaz, and couldn’t use its effect. Gregory finally used his Normal Summon for Aluber, which added The Fallen & The Virtuous to his hand. After all these plays, he was finally ready to play Branded Fusion! He sent Fallen of the White Dragon and The Golden Swordsoul to the Graveyard to Fusion Summon Albion the Branded Dragon. Albion’s effect let him fuse Fallen of the White Dragon and Bystial Magnamhut from his Graveyard into Khaos Starsource Dragon! Its effect targeted the face-up and face-down copies of Mind Shuffle, and Emmett responded with Mind Shuffle’s effect to return his Magician to the hand. Gregory Chained The Fallen & The Virtuous to destroy Mind Shuffle, sending Titaniklad the Ash Dragon to the Graveyard. He used Albion and Fallen of the White Dragon to bring Alba-Lenatus the Abyss Dragon to the field! He attacked with everything to destroy Emmett’s monsters, and Skull Archfiend’s effect put Magician of Dark Chaos in Emmett’s hand. Gregory’s remaining monsters attacked directly, dropping Emmett to just 2000 Life Points. In the End Phase, Titaniklad brought Guiding Quem, the Virtuous to the field, and Quem sent Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous to the Graveyard. He added Cartesia to his hand. Albion let him Set The Fallen & The Virtuous.

Emmett Special Summoned Black Chaos by shuffling Magician of Dark Chaos into his Deck. He used Black Chaos’s effect to banish two cards, and Gregory Chained The Fallen & The Virtuous to send Rindbrumm the Striking Dragon to the Graveyard, even knowing Black Chaos would be unaffected. Black Chaos’s effect resolved to banish Alba-Lenatus and Quem. Gregory now activated The Golden Swordsoul’s effect in his Graveyard, and Chained Rindbrumm’s effect to Special Summon Fallen of the White Dragon. Golden brought Cartesia to the field. Fallen of the White Dragon brought Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous to the field, and Emmet activated Super Polymerization! He discarded Magician of Dark Chaos to fuse Incredible Ecclesia, Fallen of the White Dragon, and Cartesia into The Dragon that Devours the Dogma. Dogma’s effect put Branded Opening and Fallen of the White Dragon from Gregory’s Graveyard into the Deck. He used Light and Darkness Ritual ’s effect in the Graveyard, adding it and Magician of Dark Chaos to his hand. He played Light and Darkness Ritual to Ritual Summon his Magician, banishing Phara from the Graveyard. The Magician returned Super Polymerization to his hand. He played another Light and Darkness Ritual to Ritual Summon Black Luster, banishing Khaos Starsource. Magician of Dark Chaos banished Aluber. He sent everything to attack and end this intense first Duel!

Duel 2

Gregory had a hand of Branded in High Spirits, Cartesia, Aluber, Quem, and The Golden Swordsoul.

He played High Spirits, discarding Golden and sending Granguignol the Dusk Dragon to the Graveyard to add Fallen of the White Dragon to his hand. He Special Summoned Fallen by sending Titaniklad the Ash Dragon to the Graveyard, and Fallen’s effect brought Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous to the field. He used both monsters to Synchro Summon Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon. He activated its effect, and Emmett had Fydraulis Harmonia! He Special Summoned Harmonia, sent Despian Luluwalilith to the Graveyard, and destroyed Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon. Gregory banished Granguignol from the Graveyard for its effect to Special Summon Dogmatika Ecclesia. Then he used the effect of The Golden Swordsoul to Special Summon Incredible Ecclesia. He Normal Summoned Quem, which sent Tri-Brigade Springans Kitt to the Graveyard. Kitt’s effect brought Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon back to the field. He used Dogmatika Ecclesia and Incredible Ecclesia to Synchro Summon The Three Champions of Swordsoul. He brought Fallen of the White Dragon back to the field, and added Cartesia to his hand with Quem. He Special Summoned Cartesia, then used its effect to fuse Fallen with The Three Champions to into Mixousia the Confounder. He returned Incredible Ecclesia to his hand, and Titaniklad put Fallen of the White Dragon in his hand. Emmett used Luluwalilith to Special Summon Incredible Ecclesia from his hand.

Emmett played Pot of Sloth to draw four cards, putting three cards on the bottom of his Deck. He used Incredible Ecclesia’s effect, and Gregory Chained Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon’s effect to bring Fallen of Albaz to the field. Emmett’s effect brought in his own Fallen of Albaz. Emmett chose not to activate his Albaz’s effect, and Gregory used his, discarding Incredible Eccleisa. He fused Albaz with all of Emmett’s monsters into The Dragon that Devours the Dogma. Dogma returned his own banished Granguignol and Emmett’s Incredible Ecclesia to the Decks. Emmett continued by Special Summoning Fallen of the White Dragon from his hand, sending Albion the Branded Dragon to the Graveyard. He used Fallen of the White Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Incredible Ecclesia from the Deck. Gregory used Mixousia to fuse with his Fallen into Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon. He had Mirrorjade send Rindbrumm to the Graveyard to banish one of Emmett’s monsters, and Emmett conceded!

Duel 3

Gregory hand for the final Duel was Harpie’s Feather Duster, Incredible Ecclesia, Tri-Brigade Springans Kitt, Fallen of the White Dragon, and Mulcharmy Fuwalos.

Emmett led with Griffoh to Set Mind Shuffle. He activated it to add Celtic Mystic to his hand and discard Skull Archfiend. Skull Archfiend’s effect sent Light and Darkness Ritual  to the Graveyard to let him add Magician of Dark Chaos to his hand. He Normal Summoned Celtic Mystic, revealing his hand to draw three cards and discard Black Luster and Skull Archfiend. He Special Summoned Skull Archfiend, returning his three monsters from the Graveyard to the Deck. He used Celtic Mystic and Skull Archfiend to Synchro Summon Chaos Angel. Then, he used Light and Darkness Ritual’s effect, returning it and Skull Archfiend to his hand. He played it to Tribute Griffoh and Ritual Summon Magician of Dark Chaos. The Magician returned Light and Darkness Ritual  to his hand. He played Ragged Records of Rites, adding Griffoh to his hand.

Gregory drew Branded in High Spirits. In the Draw Phase, Emmett used Griffoh’s effect to Set another Mind Shuffle. Gregory Special Summoned Incredible Ecclesia. He used its effect to Special Summon Fallen of the White Dragon from his Deck, and that brought Incredible Ecclesia from the Deck to the field. Emmett used the effect of Mind Shuffle, adding Black Chaos to his hand and discarding Light and Darkness Ritual. Gregory Synchro Summoned The Three Champions of Swordsoul, using its effect to add Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous to his hand. He used the effect of Three Champions to try and destroy Magician of Dark Chaos, and Emmett’s Mind Shuffle returned the Magician to his hand, bringing Black Chaos to the field in its place. Gregory played Branded in High Spirits, sending Kitt and The Dragon that Devours the Dogma to the Graveyard to add Albion the Shrouded Dragon to his hand. He used Albion’s effect, sending Branded Retribution to the Graveyard and putting Albion on the bottom of the Deck to draw Pot of Sloth. He activated it to draw The Fallen & The Virtuous, Aluber, and two copies of Forbidden Crown. He put Fuwalos and two Crowns on the bottom of the Deck.

Gregory continued by Special Summoning Cartesia and activating its effect. Emmett responded with Fydraulis Harmonia! He Special Summoned Harmonia, sent Golden Cloud Beast – Malong to the Graveyard, and destroyed Cartesia. Cartesia’s effect fused Albaz with The Three Champions for Albion the Branded Dragon. In a new Chain, Malong returned Albion to the Extra Deck, and Albion’s effect fused Albaz and Fallen of the White Dragon from the Graveyard into Khaos Starsource Dragon. He used it to target both of Emmett’s copies of Mind Shuffle. Emmett used Mind Shuffle to bounce Black Chaos, bringing Magician of Dark Chaos to the field. Gregory played Harpie’s Feather Duster, and Mind Shuffle returned Harmonia to the hand. Gregory Chained The Fallen & The Virtuous targeting the activated Mind Shuffle, sending Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon to the Graveyard. Emmett Chained Mind Shuffle again, bouncing Magician to the hand to play Black Luster. Then, Black Chaos hit the field before Duster destroyed both cards. Black Luster banished Khaos Starsource. Then, Gregory used Ecclesia and the Dark Dragon’s effect to shuffle Black Luster into the Deck. Gregory Normal Summoned his last card, Aluber! Its effect added Branded Opening to his hand. He used Retribution’s effect in the Graveyard to add The Fallen & The Virtuous to his hand. He Set Opening and The Fallen & The Virtuous. In the End Phase, Incredible Ecclesia and Cartesia returned to his hand. Dogma put The Fallen & The Virtuous in his hand.

Emmett used Black Chaos’s effect to banish two cards, and Gregory responded with The Fallen & The Virtuous to send Titaniklad to the Graveyard and destroy Chaos Angel. Black Chaos’s effect then banished Aluber and Opening. Emmett used Skull Archfiend to get some of his Extra Deck cards back, then used Light and Darkness Ritual to get Griffoh in hand. He Ritual Summoned Magician of Dark Chaos, which returned Light and Darkness Ritual to his hand. He played it again to Ritual Summon Black Luster, and sent everything to attack and end the Match!

Emmett P. is headed to the finals, one Match away from the title of North America Dragon Duel Champion!
