We’ve been super-busy the last few months, creating lots of cool new stuff for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME. In fact, we’ve been focused so much on MAKING stuff that we haven’t spent as much time as we used to TALKING about the stuff we’ve made.

With the holiday season starting up, I wanted to quickly go over some stuff that’s already available, stuff coming out in the near future, and a few things you can look forward to in 2014. We’re putting out so many cool things that even I have trouble keeping track of it all.

So check out this list. There might be something you didn’t know was out. And there’s also some info you probably didn’t know…

 

2013 Collectible Tins
(available now)

Everybody probably knows about these. Each holiday season we put out new Collectible Tins, and this year was no different. This year’s tins were themed around the Dragon Rulers, and each Tin comes with a Dragon Ruler Secret Rare Card (the same monster seen on that tin’s lid), 4 Super Rare Cards, and 5 booster packs.

Saga of Blue-Eyes White Dragon Structure Deck
(available now)

This 41-card Structure Deck puts a new spin on an old favorite: Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Includes several new cards, including the Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon Synchro Monster, plus Maiden with Eyes of Blue, Rider of the Storm Winds, Dragon Shrine, Silver’s Cry, and Castle of Dragon Souls.

Judgment of the Light Deluxe Edition
(available now)

We haven’t talked a whole lot about Deluxe Editions, but they’re a pretty big deal (in more ways than one).

Deluxe Editions are probably going to be replacing Special Editions moving forward. Special Editions are cool, but the small box of a Special Edition limits what we can put in them. The larger box of the Deluxe Edition gives us more flexibility on things we can include.

One of the key things about Deluxe Editions is that they will include advance copies of cards from the FOLLOWING booster set. So it’s a cool way to get foil versions of key cards from the next expansion, before the booster set is even out. (And yes, these advance copies are tournament legal the moment you get them.)

JOTL-DE, for example, comes with:

• 9 booster packs of Judgment of the Light
• 2 foil versions of common cards from JOTL: an Ultra Rare Archfiend Emperor, the First Lord of Horror and an Ultra Rare Flying “C”
• 1 foil version of a common card from Shadow Specters: either a Super Rare Dragon Shield or a Super Rare Vampire Kingdom
• A pack of 50 card sleeves.

We’re looking at other cool stuff we might include in future Deluxe Editions. This is a project I’m pretty excited about.

Legendary Collection 4: Joey’s World
(available now)

The latest Legendary Collection came out in October. It’s got Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation, 5 Mega-Packs, new Token Cards, and a fold-out Game Board. Plus “Joey-fied” versions of some of Joey’s Normal Monsters. Ya! Dat’s what I’m talkin’ about!

Legendary Collection Gameboard Edition
(available now)

Here’s a little gem you might not know about…

The hard-back, fold-up Game Boards we released in Legendary Collection 3: Yugi’s World and Legendary Collection 4: Joey’s World were so popular that we went back and made one for the first Legendary Collection!

The contents of Legendary Collection Gameboard Edition are very similar to the original Legendary Collection, except with the Game Board instead of the binder.

It comes with 1 pack each of Legend of Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Metal Raiders, Spell Ruler, Pharaoh’s Servant, Dark Crisis, and Invasion of Chaos. One each of the 3 God Cards (non-playable versions). The 3 variant cards of the heroes’ main monsters (Ultra Rare Dark Magician, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and Red-Eyes Black Dragon). Plus the double-sided, hard-back, fold-up Game Board.

Duelist Pack Yugi/Kaiba Special Edition
(available now – limited availability)

 

This item came out a month ago. You might not have seen it, because it’s only available through a limited number of stores. But it’s been hugely popular where it was released, so I thought I would mention it here.

Duelist Pack – Yugi & Duelist Pack – Kaiba had been out of circulation for a while, so we re-released them as a bundle. Each box of Yugi/Kaiba Special Edition comes with 3 packs of Duelist Pack – Yugi and 3 packs of Duelist Pack – Kaiba.  For a suggested price of $9.99.

Yugi/Kaiba Special Edition is only available through certain channels. In the United States & Canada, it’s available through Walmart and through Official Tournament Stores. In Latin America, it should be available through the normal places you get your Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG packs.

Shadow Specters Special Edition
(available December 13)

Shadow Specters Special Edition looks like it might be the last Special Edition. We’ve been putting out SE’s for years but a shift to the larger (and more versatile) Deluxe Editions seems very likely.
Shadow Specters SE will come with 3 packs of Shadow Specters and 1 of 2 Super Rare cards, either Stardust Dragon or Tuning.

Yugi & Kaiba Reloaded Starter Decks
(available December 6)

These revamped Starter Decks are intended as a nice, simple way to teach newer fans how to play the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. These Starter Decks don’t have any Extra Deck monsters, and are intended as an easy way to learn the basics of the game.

Each 50-card deck includes lots of iconic cards from the TV series, and should give starting Duelists a strong Deck to use, right out of the box.

 

 

Yugi’s Deck focuses on his Spellcasters with Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, Skilled Dark Magicians, Skilled White Magicians, Breaker the Magical Warrior, and Silent Swordsman monsters

Plus it’s filled with powerful Spell and Trap Cards like Mage Power, Book of Moon, Magical Dimension, Mirror Force, Magic Cylinder, Call of the Haunted, and many more.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kaiba’s Deck showcases his famous monsters from the TV series, and of course his Dragons. It also includes the Horus the Black Flame Dragon monsters, as a counter-balance to Yugi’s Silent Swordsmen.

Kaiba’s Deck is a little more brute force than Yugi’s, with stronger monsters overall, but also includes cool Spells and Traps like Enemy Controller, Shrink, Widespread Ruin, Dark Hole, and Dragonic Tactics.

 

Each Deck also includes 1 Ultimate Rare card, either Dark Magician for Yugi Reloaded or Blue-Eyes White Dragon for Kaiba Reloaded. Plus a revamped Beginner’s Guide (with special notes on the Yugi/Kaiba decks) to teach new Duelists the ropes, and a Dueling Guide on how to pilot and customize each Deck.

Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Double Dragon Card Sleeves

Releasing in January, these new Card Sleeves feature Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon. Both monsters are available in the Saga of Blue-Eyes White Dragon Structure Deck.

Legacy of the Valiant
(available January 24, 2014)

Our next booster set releases January 24! Plants & Gravekeepers take center stage, here. In addition to new Ghostricks, Bujins, Noble Knights, and other cool stuff.

Gravekeepers have been a popular Deck for years and they get 7 new cards in this set. Add new monsters to your Gravekeeper hierarchy, led by the new Gravekeeper’s Oracle. And explore the mysteries of the Hidden Temples of Necrovalley and Imperial Tombs of Necrovalley.

Plants get another “Princess” monster, Chirubimé, Princess of Autumn Leaves. But the big boost for Plants comes from the New “Sylvan” monster theme. Sylvans will also pioneer a new game term: Excavate. You’ll start seeing “excavate” used on cards beginning with War of the Giants: Round 2, but this new mechanic really takes off with the Sylvan monsters in Legacy of the Valiant.

This set will be getting a Deluxe Edition, probably in early March, which will include booster packs, 2 foil versions of cards from Legacy of the Valiant, and previews of upcoming cards from the booster set after that. Plus new storage boxes featuring two popular deck themes from the last few years!

Cyber Dragon Revolution Structure Deck
(available February 7, 2014)

Blue-Eyes isn’t the only popular monster to get a Structure Deck revamp. In February 2014, it’s Cyber Dragon’s turn, with the new Cyber Dragon Revolution Structure Deck. With both Fusion and Xyz Monsters in the Extra Deck, this 42-card Deck can give a new jolt of energy to your Machine Deck!
