Round 1 of YCS Orlando is about to begin, and local Orlando Duelist Brandan Bard is taking his Gladiator Beast Deck into the battle! He’s up against Mitchell Garcia from Houston, Texas, who is Dueling with his Fiendsmith Ryzeal Deck. Fiendsmith Ryzeal Decks are expected to be a top contender this weekend, but Bard’s Gladiator Beast Deck is up for the challenge. He’s using a ton of new support from Supreme Darkness, including 3 copies of Gladiator Beast Gistel, 3 Flavian – Colosseum of the Gladiator Beasts, and 3 copies of Test Bear. Modern Gladiator Beast Decks are able to build nearly unstoppable fields on the very first turn if they’re not disrupted, and this Feature Match could give a strong display of what Gladiator Beast Decks are capable of doing. Each of these Duelists came up just shy of making their way to the Finals of YCS Anaheim. However, Christopher Alexander Pyke and Michael Brandon Aviles still made the Top 4, which means that they have a chance to earn a Super Rare copy of Anotherverse Solaria. Only one of these Duelists will be able to take this Championship Prize Card home, so this Duel will certainly be an intense one!

We’re almost there! It’s the last Swiss round here at YCS Anaheim, and players are hoping to make it to the Top 32 playoff. Both Triston Delaney Scott and Michael Brandon Aviles have an 8-2 record, so both players need to win this round in order to have a chance of advancing into the Top Cut. Scott is playing the Fiendsmith Snake-Eye Deck, a strategy that has been extremely successful for a while, while Aviles is bringing the brand new Ryzeal strategy to the first YCS he has ever attended. We’re almost at the end of Day 1 here at YCS Anaheim! The players have been Dueling all day, and many are still hoping for the chance to make it to Day 2. William Connor Wesley and Rennie Rendell Whitehead each have a 5-1 record. They’ve each done well thus far, but will want to win the rest of their games in order to give them the best possible chances of making it to Day 2. The players are each using decks that have performed well at the top tables all day long, with Wesley using the new Maliss deck, while Whitehead is piloting the Fiendsmith Kashtira strategy.
